Terrible pay, lowest in the area by FAR, (one of the lowest in this industry period) and no room for negotiation on a wage increase either (even on an assessment year when the cost of living drastically increased) Head office will not allow it, even if the manager asks for every single person working there, who are all horribly underpaid. You're nothing but a number to them and HEAD OFFICE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT IT'S EMPLOYEES! And when they (head office) needs to save money, they make the employees, who are already living paycheck to paycheck, pay for it by cutting shift hours back, dropping people down to part time and low raises (just to name a few). There are people who've worked there for YEARS and haven't even gone up a full dollar from where they started yet (the last raise was something like 10 cents, give or take depending on the position). If you can find anything else, take that job instead, maybe you can at least work your wage up over the years...that's what I'm trying to do now...

This retirement community proudly managed by Caleb group, is a company that develops and manages retirement communities. a quiet and safety place, Caleb provides an all inclusive style service for resident of these independent living retirement communities.as a server we deliver a 100%service . A big part of resident service is to understand that we need to take away their stress.Most people need service in order to feel inward peace and security.We are happy to served retired people their time to be valued a feeling of safety and security, to know they are valued and appreciated. The hardest part of our job handling difficult of  some resident picky and sometimes they complain about their meals. and the most injoyable part of the job is co employee helping each other we work hard and have fun .we promote a healthy balance between work and home.

On a typical day we would set up the beverages on the tables before the residents came down for supper, when they arrived we said grace  then I would take orders from the residents as to what they wanted to eat then submitted it to the back. After order was ready I would get there food from the kitchen and deliver it to the residents. I learned how to interactive with the residents,taking orders to and from the correct residents. The managers ran an organized and consistent schedule as what had to be done. The most challenging part to begin with was to memorize residents orders until I had a routine then it became easier. The best part was interacting with the residents and fellow co-workers.

Interacting with residents is the most rewarding part of working at Caleb.   

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management is by far the most stressful.  She has favorites.  And if you aren't one of those favorite you will never have your time off approved.   She will always make an excuse why you can't.   But she can take a month off in Feb/March ish. And again in the summer.

Very pleasent in the evenings.   When management isnt around

To utilize my work experience to make a success in my future

Nobody is perfect and we all are different in my ways

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
My day at the company is awesome the staff are friendly and comfortable to work with.

Fast-paced, easy going and a friendly atmosphere. All the staff and management work tirelessly for the residents of the retirement communities. Management is always trying to improve work - home balance and allows for advancement and training when required. It is the best feeling hearing from the residents how much they enjoy everything from the food to the activities. 

Working at Caleb village was very interesting and fun. I got to meet a lot of people threw out the day and also talk with the friendly elderly people that lived there. I found Caleb village challenging but not in a bad way, I learned how to call for EMS and close family of the elder that was in need of help, I loved being in charge. My boss's were great people too, Very friendly and understanding if you were ill or needed to ask a question.

This job was in a independent senior residential living environment. Our duties included being a security person, keeping track of people who came and went, also assisting residents during meals and any social activities, keeping the building clean and sanitary, answering phones and responding to any and all emergencies if required.

Amazing residents but everyone is extremely racist you're shunned, sabotaged and not trained correctly if you are white. Everyone gossips about other workers and residents behind their backs.

i started my nursing career in this hospital. it teaches me a lot. i had a great working experience in this hospital.i gained confidence in doing nursing job in this hospital.,i got lots of benefits here especially my nursing career.
