Calgary Flyer Force

A typical days objectives at Calgary Flyer Force was to ensure all customers issues were dealt with and resolved in a timely manner.
Over the 7 yrs. of employment, I learned to tactfully and professionally assist disgruntled customers with their flyer needs.
Management did not always follow company protocol making it  difficult to meet customer requests. This aspect of the job I found most difficult to deal with, and is why I made the decision to terminate my position with the company.
The most rewarding part of the position was when a plan of action was followed through as per company policy and customers needs were successfully met.

Calgary Flyer Force is an unstable company for people who need some extra cash, or like me, who has no other way of earning income. The flyers themselves often arrive late giving little to no time to deliver them. Not only that but the pay is scheduled to arrive the first Monday of every month but never does. It arrives usually middle of the week late in the month, which makes no sense. There are zero benefits at all to working here, pay is extremely low and there are literally no benefits. None. All in all this job should only be taken if you need to.

Working as a flyer delivery for my first job did not really prepare me for what a job was really like. Twice a week there would be a couple stacks of papers dropped off in front of the garage and I would have to assemble and tie up the papers. When the time came I would haul those papers out and go to the correct houses to deliver them. The amount of time it took my to deliver them was the best part of the job because it took my just over an hour on normal days. There were no co-workers as it was just myself delivering and I never did talk to the management of the company.

Was my first job and not bad overall. Have the flyers dropped off at your door and deliver on the assigned days. Absolutely no contact with your supervisor, which could be a good thing. Work at your own pace as you get paid by the load. Do think that the job pays less than it should, but for a younger person who lives at home and doesn't pay rent its not bad. Was nice to visit with neighbours sometimes and got a few tips during the holidays. 

For a young person living at home not paying bills its not a bad job. The Flyer Force does not provide you with a wagon so hopefully you have something to haul the papers around, depending on the size of your route. Being outside and socializing with neighbors was nice. You also get a decent amount of exercise in. The pay could be better. 

I have worked with the flyer force for 10 years and it has taught me how to be hard working, independent, and it has given me a good taste of what it's like to have a job. This job has treated me very well but it is time to move on to a job that I am able to make more money

I got this job when I was about 10/11 so I don’t fully remember all the interviewing tactics/ requirements b to it was a good way for a kid to earn a little bit of cash

I worked here after finishing high school to get some work experience and some pocket money. I only had one route so it only took me about two hours every week to complete. However, the pay was not amazing, I was getting $100 a month, but I suppose it's fair considering the amount of work I was doing.

I like the paycheque especially when I can get paid for working outside. The management is reasonable and understanding. I learned some responsibility to get the papers delivered on time.

I enjoyed working at The YMCA, I was able to teach children how to play basketball but also learn how to coach myself to become a better leader, the hardest part of volunteering was being able to watch over all the children. The Management was good they all were on task and making sure everyone was safe.
