Very hot working environment.
Very physically draining.
Short 15 minute breaks (2) your lucky if you can go to the washroom and eat without rushing.
Very dusty environment with flour and other ingredients in the air.
A lot of the equipment and machines failed often and preventative maintenance was barely done.
When equipment failed everyone had to scramble to fix issues often which was stressful, sometimes resulting in injuries like burns, cuts and bruises.
It's very hard to make plans when you are expected to work overtime every day and no extra employees are hired to help work/life balance for employees and at the same time on slower months there is not enough hours and your hours will be slowly cut back. So your either getting exhausted and over worked or sent home because there is not enough work for the day. This makes paying bills hard with so much uncertainty.
Lots of TFW's working here makes it hard to communicate with fellow workers and sometimes training is very poor.

A typical day at work would look like this, they practically ignore if you had breaks or not sometimes I went on with out breaks. Unless for some reason they pay attention to who has breaks and who doesn't. You get 10 min break and a total of three on your shift, the thing is you cant punch in or out for break so there is no way to prove that they respected your breaks. At times you get insulting exaggerated behavior from managers and CEOS. Co workers seems that they fear their managers for fear of losing their jobs since their education is really low and it would be hard to find another job. Poor production methods , using old machines that might create hazards. Overall is a company the government should look into.

Preparation and check-up first then normal work. Through my working carrier there I have learned how to operate bread slicers and baggers then how to be professional maintenance mechanic trough troubleshooting, fitting and replacing parts, installing new machinery and equipment, welding, fabricating etc...

I had to manage myself very well to achieve goals and my work
team and machinery to give maximum output. 

Always something different but new and exciting.

As far night shifts.

When something new is going on and I can grasp it and perform. This is like natural adrenaline.

I have found that the management team really cares about you and is very respectful, especially when you give them respect and interest into their lives outside of work. The scheduling is quite adaptable as long as your request is reasonable.

a typical day in calgary italian bakery starts with preparing the bread we sell to our dears customers there is so much things to learn about food processing cause is not only bake read, the workplace is multicultural and accept people from different cultures what it maske you learn more about other religions, food, cultures etc

over the top and micro managed by one manager but otherwise turn up get the job done, an old school bully that has been there 25 plus years to keep persons in line is denied by all senior mg mt as a bully, any one on a work permit if fair game for him

Good company to work. They r very fair and try to give employees extra benefits such as trips to zoo   Summer bbqs and regular wage increases.  Very high demanding job. Very fast paced must b on the ball at all times. Long hours at times. Sometimes 50 hours a week

The merchandiser job at Calgary Italian Bakery was very manageable, only requiring keeping track of the number of bread loaves as well as re-stocking the shelves as required. Fit quite easily with my university schedule, and although no co-workers, my bosses were very nice and considerate.

it'a family owned business, one of the busiest bakery of calgary city,the employer is very hands on. but the problem is there is no such parameter things about the salary increase.

It is hard to have a good management when the company is manage by family. There is not human resources department or something similar, so employees faced many problems.
