At Calm Air, you're not just a line on a schedule or a number.  The airline is large enough for diversity in personalities and experience, but small enough to form a genuine connection with those who you work with.  As a pilot, it feels like you're going to spend an afternoon with a buddy, rather than to work with a colleague.  

Difficult work-life balance due to scheduling based on seniority. If you're a new employee, you're out of luck. Expect to work unpredictable hours. Not good if you have a second job or if you are still studying. Management makes very unsupportive comments creating a toxic work environment and HR is no help. Not really enough room for growth but the pay is decent.

Management is horrible and extremely corrupt.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Outdoor work, the job is good, the management is not.

Load cargo and baggage, marshal in aircraft.

What is the best part of working at the company?
You become part of a community.  The work day goes by quickly. I really enjoy the job tasks. A lot of walking is involved. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Potential safety risks from working with the public passengers.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Warm, welcoming, inclusive, busy

Great work, great pay, friendly coworkers and management. Hardest part of the job in working seven straight nights but having seven straight days off is a positive.

Calm Air has been Manitoab Top Employer for 2012. Calm Air has been enjoyable. They have many kind and sincere people that work for the pleasant company, and the best part you meet so many people from around the world. 

I enjoy working with people and the passengers who fly Calm Air are usually really pleasant.  I find that the management is very one minded and somewhat of closed doors.  My co workers for the most part are very cliquey and the passengers seem to be what keeps me working for this company.

Management was so good. Manager was so helpful in all aspects.

Aviation is a tough industry. Long hours and hard work but the company works with you to compensate you for hard work. 

Lots of opertunity within the company.

People keep joining and leaving all the time…. Salary low … benefits not too good… now they will travel for major airlines at my time it was just their netweek.
