Cambira can be a decent place to start if you’re new to the industry and looking to get your foot in the door. The environment is generally friendly on the surface, and some coworkers are great to work with. However, the work-life balance is virtually nonexistent. Schedules are unpredictable — you often don’t know your shifts for the following week, which makes it extremely difficult to plan around family, kids, or personal time.

A major downside is the internal culture. There’s a lot of behind-the-back talk, and people often try to undermine each other to get ahead. Advancement opportunities often go to those who are friends with office staff or upper management rather than based on merit. It’s frustrating to see unqualified people in higher positions just because they’re connected to the CEO. This creates tension on job sites and makes teamwork difficult.

There have also been instances of subtle racism from certain site supervisors, which is disappointing and adds to the overall uncomfortable environment.

In short, it’s not a terrible place to start your career and gain some experience, but be prepared for favoritism, poor communication, and a lack of work-life balance.

I have worked at a few companies in the past, and can say with my full heart that this is one of the best companies out there. 
The management staff are great, very approachable and awesome with teaching and helping you grow your knowledge and experience.

There is a great team culture here, that they always are working on to improve and encourage. 
There are weekly BBQ’s at the office through the summer, food trucks monthly through the summer, golf events, bowling and axe throwing throughout the year. 
I find they are always trying to show appreciation for the employees which is found very rarely in the work world!

They invest in their employees training, I have been sent for so many certificates, first aid, health and safety, forklift, supervision, etc. They are always giving you tools for skill development which is awesome.

I find there is room to grown in this company as well. Most people that have worked as PC’s seem to move up as they show their hard work. A lot of the senior people here have been here for 20 plus years which is nice to see.

I find they are always trying their best to improve and grow within the company.

Can say that others may say it’s a fun place to work, but when your job is 90% phone calls to trades for tenders and being belittled by project managers, snapping fingers at you or hound you about making phone calls and covering all divisions when being busy on other work that have to be rushed out immediately, I wouldn’t classify it as fun. Trades have noted that they don’t want to price jobs for some PMs either because they don’t like to be accosted over the phone, or waste time on projects they know go to favoured trades. PMs go on conversation sprees and spend 3 hours talking to anyone who has an ear open, while not including you on the project you’re working on. The list can go on. Don’t have an opinion or they’ll just tell you that you aren’t following directions and just alienate you.

Terrible culture here at Cambria. The Project Managers delegate their own responsibilities to their Site Supervisors, and are the first ones to be punished. 

Despite clients having a generally positive feedback on all Site Supervisors - their consistent issue is with the companies Project Managers and their propensity to shrug their duties - even more so now that they are working remotely. 

If you want to be taken advantage, overworked, and criticized for others not doing their jobs - then Cambria is the company for you. They have a habit of firing Site Supervisors after their first project completion. This place is infamous for having a revolving door of employees.

Like I said .. if you are in general construction in any capacity from labour to management and you are looking for a workplace that will allow you to grow roots… you want to work here. There is no other company out there like Cambria.. I have been with this company since July 2001.. I started as a summer student 20+ years ago and have worked my way up through the ranks to management. I have seen and have been a living part of every single rung on this ladder… and I’m telling you from my entire working life’s experience.. you won’t be sorry . High intensity fast paced highly productive activities running with trades to achieve goals.

Cambria was a great company to work for. With an approachable President and General Manager in place to lead the company onwards and upwards. Safety is always first and I was fortunate to receive paid safety training and certifications as requested or required for site specific tasks or projects. Non-stop on the job training and skill development has been something that I have taken forward with me.

One of the best places to work with lots of help from others. Great Team work culture. 
President is a cool person with lots of good personalities that makes you want to work in the company. 
very organized and persuades everyone to use the most up to date tools for project management in order to better monitor and manage projects. 
highly believing in the company strategy that we build beyond clients expectation and try to make it as best as we can

Unlike the previous person who failed to be promoted within 6 months of being here  I find this to be an extremely forward thinking company.

Everyone is Sr positions worked their way up and management staff is approachable.
