A typical day involved anywhere from 20 to 60 incoming calls plus any transfers or direct line calls, answering emails, making sure leads were being followed up on within 2 minutes of receiving them in our inbox and helping teammates.
I learned some new time management techniques in order to be working on and completing multiple tasks and activities at a time.
Management was supportive and very goal-oriented.  This gave each day very clear structure of what was expected.
My coworkers were great, everyone was very willing to help each other out.  Especially those on the Rapid Response team - which I was a part of.  We would collaborate and create new plans to continue improving our sales numbers and breaking more records.
The hardest part of the job was the lack of advancement opportunity.  I have a desire to succeed, excel and improve myself so I can become an irreplaceable asset to a company that wants the best for me.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the people - both customers and coworkers.  The atmosphere was always upbeat and unified.

It really doesn’t matter how long you work here or what you do for the company. They will gaslight you constantly. There are tons of crazy targets you never make so you never get your bonus. They let clients walk all over you, verbally abuse you and disrespect you. If you bring it up to management you’ll be blamed. Anything that goes wrong will be blamed on you by management. The managers come in late and go for a smoke right away but if you log in 30 seconds late you’ll be warned and then reprimanded. Honestly people will work there for 15 years and disappear  without even an email. There’s definitely tied selling happening and forcing to sell products from a certain company, hardly a brokerage. The pay is below average. And the best part if you do your job right, you can do other people jobs too! Save yourself the mental strain and go somewhere else, unless you feel like being chained to a desk answering hundreds of calls and emails, having to tell management when you need to use the bathroom. 

Some of the Calgary office are extremely toxic, Do your reach before taking the job offer.

This company is NOT heading in the right direction. People turnover is just too much, no stability and hard to say what's going to happen tomorrow.

Extreme micromanagement ,I felt that my branch was poorly managed and our manager made a point to let us know a few times that we were all replaceable. It was the utmost stereotype of women unable to work together. I felt that some of that tension stemmed from management pitting "team members" against each other. 
There was also a lot of unrealistic expectations, like one under staffed office doing two offices work load.
Previous employees were continuously blamed for current problems.

Brokerlink as a company is dehumanizing. All employees are a number and higher management doesn’t care about anyone. Higher ups have meetings with us and tell us to be honest about our feelings and then send us an email telling us “Thank you for your concerns” and explain all the reasons why nothing is going to change. 
In the last 2 weeks, 5 people have left on stress leave in one small area and management still doesn’t get it. 

My manager is amazing, does not micro manage and is helpful and supportive. Anyone higher up is just a pawn in this disgraceful company. I’m still here for the benefits and the salary and I stopped caring about my job or the company so I don’t bring it home with me anymore. 

Brokerlink itself is a great company to work for - I believe that the particular office manager and staff I had, were not a good fit for me. Toxic office environment. Had I not experienced what I did and had I not have to leave my job that I loved, this company would get 10 stars from me.

If you want to be micro- managed, ignored, underpaid, over worked and unappreciated, then this is the company for you. I have never worked for such a horrible company in all my life. The people who are giving it a 5 star rating are either brown nosers or seriously confused. No one cares about your opinions or how things are at work. The higher ups are an absolute joke who sit behind a desk collecting a pay cheque. It’s the most depressing atmosphere I’ve ever been in and most employees feel that way but don’t have the guts to say it. If you’re thinking about getting into the insurance business, stay clear of this company. 

Worst work environment in the industry.

Overworked, underpaid, extremely stressful, below average management. Individuals in leadership positions that have absolutely no skills to be considered the definition of a "leader".

Micromanaged to the point you almost need to need to account for relief breaks.

The true leaders are on the front line, they take the brunt of the daily expectations and are under appreciated and evaluated time after time.

If you enjoy being held under a microscope, micro managed and under stress every day, this is the place.

Phones are monitored without allowing time to complete files in a timely fashion, with the "One and Done" rule.  This leaves great risk of error.  

I stay past my official end of day time, to complete the files, so that errors will not occur.  

Coffee breaks do not exist and Lunch breaks are assigned to you.  You do not get time in lue of working your lunch break.  

I also work out side of the office, representing the company for Group Insurance benefits to companies.  I have been told that this is "Volunteer Time"  thus, will not be compensated.

Fast paced, increasing workload for the driven. As an insurance brokerage, they are excellently technologically advanced with a strong focus on growth. Day to day can be stressful, but very rewarding and fulfilling. Compensation is competitive, bonus opportunity is great, fantastic benefits. 

Professional development highly encouraged and great management. 

I'd highly recommend this to a broker, who wants to work.

I would never recommend anyone work for Brokerlink. Its like a giant highschool and even management gossips. They also let people go for no reason quite frequently, so there is no job security. For example, in the department I worked in, everyone sat and ate together everyday, told on each other and backstabbed each other constantly. My manager even discussed my personal life with several employees outside of work hours and played favorites. I don't have anything nice to say about this company, other than its pretty much a cult. Stay away at all costs.
