Employees cut corners. GeoBags are either walked on numerous times, or a slit is made on the bottom allowing sediment to leach into prestine lakes. New hires, who have never worked a camp job, have no idea what to pack for luggage prior to departure (onboarding process is less than poor) CPP prides themselves on welcoming new employees yet seasoned employees stick together. Many employees who smoke cigarettes, smoke them in the company vehicles. Makes it for a very unpleasant experience since most of your time is spent in those vehicles. A message for future employees....do your homework and ask as many questions as you can ask during the hiring process.

Daily toolbox and tailgate meetings.Assign crew with work tasks.Inspections on equipment.I learned about various equipment used in the daily operations within the extraction process in the oil sands.Out of all the jobs I had over the years the crew of workers had to be the best crew,positive and great team workers with good work ethics.The hardest part of the job was when there was little work available.The most enjoyable part of the job was that there was always something new and interesting to learn and having a great crew of guys to work with.

Each individual has a genuine interest in the success of the company. 
The owner is engaged and supportive.
Engineering team has a wealth of collective experience and knowledge of each system.
All the managers are driven to succeed in all aspects of customer relations, projects and maintenance 
All operators and special projects employees are long term employees other than recent new hires to meet our expansion of work and projects.
Genuine company with genuine people

all computer work - most customer, supplier, co-worker communication via email - on line invoicing - excel job costing - some telephone communication

learned more about excel spreadsheets and SAP operating

workplace culture good - all employees tried their best and were willing to learn

hardest part is growing pains? small company has to develop their own structure

There are lots of great people that work there but the people that run the show are cheap never get anything we need to complete the job office guys get paid everything and bonuses us field workers get nothing of the short we get treaded bad raises are a joke if you want one you aren't getting one this company will loose there contract soon from how they go about everything on site very cheap is all I gotta say if you live in a different province you do not get paid travel you do not get a hotel or nothing from this company unless you are an office guy or supervisor 

Disorganized and un prepared. Several jobs are repeat clients. Each year the same equipment is used at the same location but never is kept together and/or organized. Lacking communication and qualified personnel to do a job correctly and efficiently. 
Always a last minute confused chaos scramble to get/locate crucial services and equipment needed for a job. 

I worked as a contractor in the Head Office for about 18 months.   The people in the office were friendly and very enjoyable to work with.   I have great respect for the CEO and believe in his vision to change the world.  

The work was at times very challenging and the company is a slave to the large Alberta Oil-sand Companies.   A change in the world market had repercussions in the work place.

Micromanaged to death. Systems and policies on top of systems & policies. Its military style of management is from the dark ages. You will be asked your opinion regularly.  your opinion doesn’t matter. Your opinion just classifies you. No room for advancement, no performance reviews just sceptical micromanagement. Constantly. Save yourself and work elsewhere. They care not about anyone but themselves. 

Great place to work. Growing company. Great support and flexibility from my immediate supervisor and team. Lots of opportunity for cross departmental collaboration on ideas and solutions for streamlined processes to improve efficiency and growth.

Job Starts off  good very  friendly  owner is  a  great  person  

however the  lower management  has  no  clue  or  people  skills  

your  working  one  day  and  they  come  in  and  let  everyone  go  except  for  their  family  that  works  there 

good  learning  experience but  dont  count  on  it as a retirement  position  because  you are  expendable  at any  moment
