What is the best part of working at the company?
The instructors in campus put in their best to make you succeed but the management and some union reps makes the job look bad. And Your chances of getting qualified is very slim, especially in Saskatoon, as a trainee

A few great guys, abundant bad individuals who smile at your face but don’t wish you well

It is concerning that an individual from CN, who appeared to prioritize personal financial gain over the safety and well-being of others, is now employed at Rocky Mountaineer. This raises serious ethical questions about how such behavior can seemingly be overlooked, allowing individuals to thrive by obscuring their past actions. It is disheartening to see how prioritizing bonuses over people's lives can go unaddressed and, in some cases, be rewarded at Rocky Mountaineer.

I had the pleasure of working under two great managers for 4 years at CN. The workload was adequate but heavy, the atmosphere fun and motivating. The salary and benefits were great.
Unfortunately, I had a bad manager in my fifth year there. As they say, you don't quit a company, you quit a bad manager.

This is a good job if you get along with a variety of people from different origins and backgrounds. If you listen to management and do what you're told and do it in a safe manor; you won't have any problems.

Great company and atmosphere.  Benefits are great.  Just lack what they preach!  They say they are a company to grow and give opportunities but they never gave the chance.  Seems like if your good at what you do, they won't move you if you are willing to move.

thats pretty much all you'll have in life.
Constant emails, 24/7, lack of accountability from senior management, diverging operational goals to leave you wondering if you even all work at the same place,,,,but hey, thats railroading

Overall nice place to work many new people and students, but the pay wasnt good. Very long days with lots of walking, good way to get customer experience because it is always packed with people full of questions.

I really did find this job interesting. The workplace can be quite toxic and yhere is no work life balance. It felt as if i had no choice but to work my life away without anyway to escape


Since it was my first job in Canada, I personally think its a good place to start your career. There are ample opportunities to learn and grow within the organisation.

Working at CN is a good opportunity to enhance your career. However, there is no job security even for permanent employee. The management is also poor but their are working on that.
