Once you get past the fact that you work for the government (bureaucracy, etc), it's an awesome place to work. Colleagues are super smart and knowledgeable, yet always willing to help and collaborate. Management seems pretty open, employees are informed of the big picture and asked for their ideas. In my team, new ideas are implemented super quickly. An obvious downside, which might turn off some people, is that the CSA basically contracts everything, so that they don't develop stuff or do the science themselves.
The work culture is great (but seems to vary a little from team to team), work-life balance and psychological safety are core values.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Basic federal public service benefits, as in any govt. department

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Extremely poor quality of management, especially at the level of the executive committee

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
abysmal. High level of stress and anxiety due to poor leadership and tendency not to acknowledge the value of experienced staff.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
can't wait to get home after more undue pressure form managers who rule by fear.

Best and most supportive work culture that respects the grind as well as its employees. Career growth opportunities abound for anyone interested in working there. Every department is informed about the breakthroughs in other departments and celebrates them. Management is always very supportive and ambitious. The most enjoyable part is the amount of innovation and creativity the team had in their ability to reach new heights with their research.

Very relaxed atmosphere despite the fact that this was a place where history was being made!!!!!

Overworked, stressed with no team spirit or respect. Lots of unqualified veteran employed with tins of abuse and dishonesty. Managers are clueless and useless. Instructions it clear and keep changing every morning. Nobody knows anything and everybody is lost. Salary is no longer competitive in comparison to the competition and in view of the huge workload. 

This is truly a great environement to work in. It is inspiring to work with experts from many different domains. The hour are flexible, there is great atmosphere and you get a lot of autonomy. There is a ot of oportunities to grow in the agency.

In the 2000's the work was really interesting.  These days the tasks are focused on contract and project management.  To stay to date, engineers must stay directly involved in technical development. I got hired there to develop but now it is totally different.

Friendly people, challenging but rewarding projects. Everyday there is a different challenge and by solving it one feels that they are directly contributing to the advancement of science and engineering.

Hard to find work with as much impact as this (Space exploration!) Government job, and very stable. Good compensation, but also feels like there is a general lack of urgency. Location is a bit isolated but good cafeteria and gym facility.

High stress by way of making sure mission control RECON files and documentation was free of errors because the loss time and money was not an option.

Worked alone with little or no supervision.
