I cannot say enough good things about my experience at this workplace. From day one, it has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of this team. 

First and foremost, the work environment is exceptional. It's a place where collaboration thrives, and everyone is encouraged to bring their unique ideas to the table. The leadership team truly values its employees and actively fosters a culture of inclusivity and respect. They provide ample opportunities for professional growth and development, which has allowed me to expand my skill set and advance my career in ways I never thought possible.

The company's commitment to work-life balance is commendable. They understand the importance of maintaining a healthy equilibrium between work and personal life, which has significantly reduced stress levels and increased overall job satisfaction. 

What truly sets this workplace apart, though, is the incredible camaraderie among colleagues. It's like being part of a second family, and the support and encouragement we receive from one another is unparalleled. They mirror their philosophy of "we create smiles" in their work environment.

In summary, this workplace is the gold standard. I consider myself fortunate to be a part of this organization and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking an excellent place to work. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A typical day at work would be finding out the rooms that need cleaning and start by stripping all the laundry, so that our sheets would be ready for when we have finished stripping all the rooms. Then after we have stripped the rooms we clean each of the rooms one by one and put them back on for vacancy. After my floor was done I would move to another floor and help them and so on. After all the rooms were clean we would meet in the laundry room and finish the laundry for the next day.

I learned how to sanitize and clean really well. Also to work with a range of ages.

There was a lack of management and lots of confusion would occur because management was not organized. Sometimes cheques were deposited later than were supposed to and did not get payed for our overtime.

Working with the co-workers at Ramada was great, it was like working with a family.

The hardest part of the job would be the large amount of labour for a small amount of people.

The most enjoyable part of the job is when there was a lot of team work and equal labour put out by the individuals. Also the teamwork made it feel like a family who was able to feel comfortable with each other and joke around.


The Ramada/Canalta property has no real management to speak of. The GM works maybe two or three days a week and gives zero direction. The Ramada property in particular has a serious bullying issue that they refuse to acknowledge. There is a gang of bullies in the house keeping dept., and if they find any reason to not like you, they will find a way to remove you. Whether it be through outright threats and intimidation, or sneakier under handed tactics,  if they do not like you, if you do not tolerate their unruly behavior, you will be gone. For some odd reason management finds this behavior entirely acceptable, and will throw any new hires under the bus if they complain about this gang of miscreants. 
Beware of this place, it is a toxic work environment with a serious case of bad apple syndrome. Very, very unhealthy. 
Remember, it is the responsibility of your employer and the company they represent to provide you with a safe working environment. In this area, the Ramada fails miserably.

One of the worst places i ever worked at. The manger would constantly try to humiliate workers/housekeepers, and she was known to bully people until they quit just for not liking them. she one time brought a whistle to a meeting and would blow it at every one that tried to talk because "She needs a whistle to keep the dogs in check."... When HR was contacted they sent head office over, but they did s**t all, they literally told us to sit down, shut up, and get over it. she would tell us if we where sick we weren't aloud to work for 3 days, and then she would right people up for not showing up to work. she would make us do over time and then yell at people  for not wanting to do 6 hours overtime to finish rooms we didn't need. and when work was really slow and it was hard getting hours in  she wouldn't let us do any spring cleaning ( cleaning mattresses, washing walls, glossing showers, carpets, hallways ect.) we would barely make 150 dollars a week. and then she would force us to do it when we where super busy and get mad that it was done properly or professionally.

Like always new managers come in people are not always going to see eye to eye with.  People don’t always like change.  They are brought in to try to improve to business it is at the time.  Making people follow policies is always the hardest when they were not doing them from the beginning. The hotel is implementing many wonderful guest appreciation events and we are also making things way more hands on for the staff with many attainable information hands on problem solving solutions.  So nice the manager wants the staff to be able to make the decisions without feeling like they are micro managed. When policies are not wanted to be followed unfortunately management has no choice but to release them from positions.  Fun place, lots of laughs, lots of team events. 

A typical day at work would to start off by counting the till and make sure everything is balanced before the previous employee left. I would make sure all of the paper work for the reservations were ready and that the room cards were programmed. As guests would come in, I would do the required steps to successfully check them in and get them on their way to their rooms. My positions also required me to check the pool area to make sure it was clean and pool levels met the requirements. It was my duty to make sure there were always cookies ready and to make popcorn at 7:00 PM. I kept the lobby and surrounding areas clean and answered every phone call to the best of my ability. Near the end of my shift I would balance my till and fill out the papers that were required. I enjoyed communicating with the customers to make them feel at home.

I enjoyed working for this company as I started there as a housekeeper, and before I left I had the opportunity to move up to front desk. My morning shift would start with talking with the night audit person find out if there were any problems from the night , then make sure breakfast was all filled up for the guests , count my float check guests out do a in house count get laundry started, my manager was awesome she always encouraged me at my job she was sad to see me leave I got along with everybody there, we had fun times there we always celebrated accomplishments and birthdays it was a great place to work, the hardest part for me was learning the computer side of the job but once I figured it out it went smoothly.

The new hotel, the staff, policies and procedures were excellent, great team building activities, they celebrated work anniversaries, birthdays and became part of your family

Not having enough personnel to cover shifts

Nurturing, supportive , one of the best companies to work for 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Working at least 6 hours, which is perfect for me, I have high standards so cleaning for this organization was overall pretty good, I also helped GM interview and hire new personnel, who are still working there today

It is a decent company to work for, nothing really stands out that makes working there special. The insurance/benefits program is terrible and its such a hassle to sign up and get your benefits with the company seems like they don't want to make it easy. Some good travel benefits if you work for one of the hotel brands. The upper management at the head office is a "do as I say not as I do kinda crowd", they preach company vision and values but many treat lower employees very disrespectful on a daily basis. there is also a ton of micromanagement with many different layers of upper management who only create more work for stressed employees.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The boss & general manager are amazing. They talk about any issues that could arise in a huttle every morning. They have an open door policy,  try to resolve any issues one would have. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
If you know what you're doing, it's all straight forward.

It's an even working field. As long as you put your best foot forward,  the rest falls into place
