Typical day at work you come in and take your load to its destination then wait for dispatch to find you another load if one was not available.  Loads were pretty standard and basically the same for the most part.  Management seemed to be ok and would treat you decently but their were people their who would cause issues for other drivers.  


Hardest part of the job was getting a load at 7 Am and then expected to make the delivery anywhere between 11 and 1 in the morning the same or next day for Home Depots.  Having your own unit was the only thing enjoyable about the job although you weren't bothered by management too much so that did make a difference.


The biggest downside to working here is the pay cheque and old equipment.  Being paid by the load sucks and does not equate to the amount of hours it takes from pick up to delivery depending on where it is being delivered too, on top of that the equipment would break down a lot and during that time you are not being paid for it.  When you were placed into another truck it too was old and not maintained and sometimes in even worse condition then the one you had and would also break down or have issues.  I feel the mechanics had their hands tied and the big focus was always on the oil field trucks for priority.  The yard is a mud pit after it rains and caused issues with trucks being stuck and just not an enjoyable way to start your day.

I currently work for this company and just wanted to say that there is a problem with maintaining their equipment.  There is nothing wrong with running older trucks and  trailers if your going  to keep up on the maintenance. The manager is a bully., the drivers are told that we shouldn't  run a truck if it's not roadworthy but when there are problems  with our units the repairs are poorly done, or we are told to take another unit that is in just as bad if not worse shape than the truck you just had.  I've  heard the mechanics talking about how their told what to fix on which  truck and how much they  can repair. And the sand truck receive priority  over the flat deck trucks. Overall this is a poorly run trucking company and drivers have quit  because of and even been fired for refusing to run the poorly maintained  equipment.

I have worked here at Cander for over 3 years now. It has been a GREAT experience so far. The people are awesome to work for here. The company has grown other the years but still maintains the small family owned business atmosphere. 
As for the equipment, Cander has around 40 trucks that range from 2021 to 2004. Over the years I has drove most of them. The roads up north are VERY hard on equipment. They have there own maintenance shop and do ALL repairs on the equipment as needed. I have EVER had the shop refuse to repair a peace of equipment yet. I write up a cry sheet before days off and when I come back it the is good to go.
I have told all my friends to come here and recommend it to anyone who it looking for a GREAT place to work.

I've been driving truck a long time and being a smaller company they have to make careful decisions about how they budget. The equipment is older, however mechanically sound. The bonus is you receive an assigned truck and super B's. No one else operates the unit. If all you are is someone who sits in a seat then this may not be for you. If you're a professional driver who possesses mechanical aptitude then this is a great place to work. Maintenance staff work hard on the equipment and it shows. Show initiative, spend time on your truck and the management are great 👍. Like anything in life you get back what you give. Great small town business!!

Don’t be fooled by the good comments left here. This company is nothing but a joke.... read between the lines, the only good comments are left by dispatch, recruitment and a “head driver” who spends most his time in the office. The manager is a bully, they don’t treat you like humans, more like sewer rats, their equipment is pure junk. The pay is no where near what is stated in their ad... 80,000 - 90,000 a year is so untrue, more like 40,000 a year and that’s honestly realistic. This is by far the worst trucking company don’t waste your time!

I love how the drivers complain on here about their trucks. The guys complaining are the ones that do a pretrip from their front seat and dont send in a crylist thats even accurate. The company is great to work for and the owner and manager are fair. They get a bad wrap. Theres alot of poor employees that feel they are the victims, yet they didnt show for work or were the guys speeding down the highway. Does discilining employees validate bad reviews....no it doesnt.

Will tell you anything you want to know just to get you to work for them. manager a bit of a bully.
Hard to get their trucks fixed when something is broken they expect you to run while it's broken.
They don't provide proper training especially on their flat deck side.
On the positive note there's some good guys at work they're great to get along with.

Horrible management , equipment is not maintained and nearly impossible to have them fix major issues and if you put the equipment out of service they fire you and put someone else in the seat , revolving door of employees and the woman who runs it should never ever be in the trucking industry as she is the biggest downfall of the company !! If you are desperate for a quick pay check then this is the place to go as the door is continually revolving

Im not sure why people are complaining on here. We run keep trucking...noone ever forces you to run illegal. If you are running over hours , then its the driver who is doing it....not dispatch. She always asks if we have hours and checks our logs. They pay on time-sometimes early. Not much to it. Get up, drive your truck and deliver loads. Tjey are fair and all the bad reviews are from guys that werent doing their jobs.

Please re read all reviews... I agree with the statements and concerns drivers have posted. Simply horrible place to work,
The shop (shack) did not instill confidence in their ability to perform even minor repairs... very high driver turn around !  absent owner never spoke to him once... dispatch has his special guys !  (hrs of service!)
new inexperienced driver, cover your butt!
