Working as a cashier at Canadian Tire has been an enlightening and dynamic experience that has given me valuable insights into the retail industry. As with any job, there are both challenges and rewards, and my time at Canadian Tire has been no exception.

One of the highlights of being a cashier at Canadian Tire is the diverse range of customers. From automotive enthusiasts to DIY homeowners, each day brings a new set of individuals with varying needs. This diversity keeps the job interesting and allows me to interact with people from all walks of life. Whether it's assisting customers in finding the right automotive tools or helping them choose the perfect home and garden supplies, the variety keeps the work engaging.

The training process at Canadian Tire deserves commendation. The company places a strong emphasis on ensuring that employees are well-equipped with the necessary knowledge about the products and services they offer. I felt adequately prepared to answer customer inquiries and provide assistance, fostering a sense of confidence in my role as a cashier.

I really enjoyed my time working with this organization. The team was supportive, welcoming, and made coming to work each day a positive experience. Everyone worked well together, and there was a strong sense of teamwork and respect among staff.

At the time, I was attending school, and the hours fit my schedule very well. The flexibility allowed me to balance my work responsibilities with my studies, which I greatly appreciated. Management was understanding, and I felt valued as part of the team.

The experience helped me develop both professionally and personally while completing my education. I ultimately moved on after graduating to pursue opportunities related to my field of study, but I have many positive memories of my time there.

Overall, it was a great place to work with good people and a positive work environment. I would not hesitate to work there again if the opportunity arose and would gladly recommend it to others.

management is very good only have to ask any questions and they are willing to cooperate with any questions very flexible when it comes to shift changes required for appointments etc

My co-workers are a great bunch off people and it is great to be part of a great team environment

Hardest part would be having to deal with unsatisfied customers

Most enjoyable part would be just being part of a great team

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing. The other employees are nice but a horrible manager so dehumanizing. All went downhill side the new owners started up. Save yourself, don't bother working here.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Rude customers. Bad bosses. The whole place is stressful.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Alright. Really great co workers, absolutely terrible store manager. Bad environment, they don't care about your well being, I got electrocuted by the plugs at cash.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy or not busy, it's just a basic cashier job.

The amount of experienced workers was impressive and I learned a lot from each of them, whether I worked along side of them or just by getting to know the different people from the different departments.

The hardest part of the job was getting to know the product and how they sorted it when taking freight off of the trucks.

The most enjoyable part was getting to replace pallets and freight within the store.  I really enjoyed the organization and pride everyone seemed to have in common.

Canadian tire is a great place to work but it is a terrible place to complete an apprenticeship. They have nothing in place where u can stay with the mechanic and learn while someone covers you for oil changes and tires.You find yourself selling the same old fluids and tires, and not learning the core techniques it takes to become a automotive technician.The people were great and so was all of the equipment. Having the rite equipment for the right job makes a huge difference.

I loved working here , everyone was down to work hard and get the tasks done , coming together when needed. Supervisors where great , the people were great! my job driving the walkie was awesome. Hardest thing was having to break the plastic from the plastic wrapping machine. The most fun part everyday was learning and getting to operate a walkie all day long.

there are always lots of customers and tasking to be completed. It takes the whole store working together and supporting eachother to meet the days needs. It can be very physically demanding and even when people are exhausted they will continue to help with the best of there abilities.

Honestly it's hard to work at Canadian Tire for more than 1 year, staff can be annoying, customers are rude, other cashiers don't have your back if you work in the cash department.
