Cantec Security

I've worked with Cantec up until recently when I was offered an advanced position in Government Security through networking that Cantec's management helped to connect me with.

Their managers are extremely team oriented and are really focused on scheduling hours that work for everyone's availability. They're very involved and also work alongside their staff in the field too. Definitely not afraid to express their appreciation for their employees and acknowledge hard work.

My particular position gave me the work experience that helped to give me the confidence to take the next step into a more career-oriented security role. There was lots of opportunity for hands-on work with law enforcement and emergency services, and I completed varies reporting styles. I was satisfied with rate of pay as I did receive a few raises as job responsibility increased, however, experienced gained from the job made rate of pay worth it.

I'm extremely thankful for my time spent with this company. Would most definitely recommend to anyone looking for a career in law enforcement one day as management has lots of fantastic networking contacts for staff!

The owner of the company can be told many times by employees about scheduling conflicts and he will still continue to book people for days or times they need off. The supervisors are a bunch of robocop attitudes who think theyre better than the rest of the employees cause they get a dollar more an hour and get to wear vests. If you want to pay a uniform rental fee every pay check even after years of working there, for a cheaply made polyester shirt then this is the place for you. No room for growth. No benefits. No one cares about you. Period. The only time they will feign interest is when they need you to cover a shift. If you do cover the shifts they ask, they still wont approve your time off requests. If you are thinking about applying here, dont.

they lie constantly, have you burn your own gas and not give you gas milage money constant harrassment by other guards and patrol drivers nobody running or attempting to negoiate new contracts rely on the city of st catherines as their main investments.When you request time off the owner insults you.its a company that when guards have no hrs or minimum hrs that continues to hire on indeed.charge you uniform rental and never supply a new one.

 hardly ever seen a supervisor onsite. Little to no ppe was provided to staff during covid in sites with public access. Honestly I wouldn't recommend it for an experienced security guard, also the schedules are weekly... good luck with your social life, and there's no benefits. "We also offer competitive wages and benefits."  Minimum wage, and no health benefits or stability, but don't take it from me I quit... see for your self 

Absolutely disrespectful company President. They kept leading on and lying to me about when I’d receive my schedule this past Tuesday and when I was hired was told I’d be getting full time hours, got put at another job site for short shifts, Then they terminated me yesterday August 8th because they are over staffed and don’t have enough hours to offer me.

Low grade bottom of the barrel company.  Cheap owners you have to rent the uniforms. The company has a reputation of not paying people for hours worked. I dont recommend this company. Keep looking for a reputable security company out there.

Owner constantly lies about wage, benefits, and hours. There are no benefits BTW. You’re not a person to them. Only cares about their company and their money. “Supervisors”have no idea what they’re doing.

Cantec has understanding management that's willing to work with you, and co-workers that are decent people. Security itself is a field which requires a flexible schedule, and that may cause work-life balance issues for some.

no wage scale, no advancement, erratic schedule, terrible supervision, untruthful promises ,have to rent uniforms that are old and don't fit,unsafe and hazardous at times...forced overtime averaging....
