Good pay for the work involved, plus the shifts aren't too long for most of the areas you will be working at (around 6-8hours). It also doesn't take too long to get accustomed to the job. From my experience, most new Quick Service Supervisors become comfortable at their roles after one month.

Regarding scheduling, the maximum shifts you can get reflect the amount of events there are within a month. Because of this, there will be some months (mainly during the hockey regular season) where you will be able to work close to 40 hours within a week; this is if you choose to be available for all of them. However, once the hockey season ends and there are only concerts being held within the arena (April to September), you'll be lucky if you work more than 20 hours in a given month. Because of this, many of the event staff usually have to pick up a Summer job during these months to make up for the lack of hours. On top of this, the amount of shifts you can get within a month depends on your seniority at the position as well. Meaning that if you were recently hired near the end of the regular hockey season, you will hardly be working in the Summer months.

If you are capable or have experience working in a fast paced "restaurant" styled environment where you will be assisting your staff serve food and beverages for hours on end, then this position may be for you. Quick Service Supervisors are assigned to a stand/area at the start of every shift and are in charge of the service, cleanliness, and inventory of it until closing time. And if you ever struggle to understand something, the managers are very eager to assist you. The work environment in Quick Service is mostly positive. Many of the other Quick Service Supervisors are a delight and are easy to get along with, and the same goes for many of the staff you'll be Supervising as well. The negative, is that the turnover rate is so high for some of the positions you will be supervising, that building any sort of continuity amongst your staff is unlikely.

One big downside to this position is that the opportunity for you to work your way up the ladder and get promoted is almost non-existent. I have worked with several excellent Quick Service Supervisors who have worked hard for Canucks Sports and Entertainment for years upon years and were rewarded with seemingly nothing. As such, this position is seemingly best suited for those who do not wish to gain further managerial experience in hospitality, and are comfortable staying in low level management.

In my last year with the Canucks I co-managed a team of 15 part time coordinators and personally oversaw the communication and management of over 1000 volunteers.

In my 5 years with the Canucks I was able to develop my administrative and leadership skills by developing volunteer management processes and building relationships with staff and volunteers. 

Because of the nature of the position, most of my work and time was self managed. I created personal and project goals each season and was very successful in achieving them.

The most challenging aspect of this role was dealing with large numbers of individual personalities in a high paced, time sensitive environment. However, being the nature of the sports and entertainment industry, quick and effective problem solving was key to success.

The most enjoyable parts of the position were building relationships with staff and volunteers, reaching huge financial targets and making a difference in the lives of children throughout BC.

They don't treat People fairly, especially in IT team so I worked there for a short period after a while I noticed that this is not a good place to work as There is a team that have been working for a long time then they are free to do anything they want to  there is no upper manager supervision
what I can not  tolerate in work place is rudeness so I was being  offended many times then most of time the IT Manager was way aggressive and rude for a minor issue I have never seen like that in Canada previously   ,
As they have small IT team there is no procedures and good management, assistance however there is  high expectation to support branches all over the Canada & Us , They just want people work as slave there was no interactions, prejudgement 
as well as I had a felling that I am being treated based on my ethnicity and race 
I never recommend  anyone to work here investing their time in better company 




A typical day working for Canucks Sports and Entertainment consisted of: Prepping work space for high-paced environment, pouring alcoholic beverages for customers, handling and accounting for large amounts of cash and being responsible for the happiness of my customers if problems arise. 

In this job I learned to work in a very high paced environment and how to work as a team to get the job done. 

The most difficult part of my job with Canucks Sports and Entertainment was attempting to make every customers experience with our station a good one. With the price of our alcohol and the amount of customers, it was difficult to make every customers experience great. 

The most enjoyable part of my Job with Canucks was dealing with people. I loved talking to different people and seeing how they were enjoying the game or event at Rogers arena.

I started out as a quick service attendant, then moved up to be a supervisor. 

I really enjoy the work here. It is an event basis, so it is more of a second job or for students. If you thrive working in fast-paced, demanding environments and you excel in customer service, don't hesitate to work here if you want a fun place to work during your free time.

Management here is okay. No complaints really. The job kinda throws you under the bus when you start out. My other complaint is the lack of renovations the stadium needs. 




Don’t be distracted by the pretty picture of sports and great hires which will be your friends as you all struggle together at the bottom. This place is ran by a bunch of scared men who are pawns. Top down is completely corrupt. Pay will never be what you deserve nor near what it should be, ever. You will be expected to always give 200% and will be ‘rewarded’ with free drinks sometimes and tickets rarely but never a better salary or hours. I heard the company was ran better in the past and now it has gone very wrong. Turnover of almost all of long and short term management in less than 6 months throughout the entire company should tell you what you need to know. 

Best part is the people. From the crazy hockey fans to my fellow coworkers to the supervisors to the managers to the security guards and even the players. I got to meet all walks of life. And even had spontaneous opportunity to run into awesome people like Joey Kanward and the Canucks players. Very friendly and pleasant, for everyone. Great job if you have a full time job already or full time student and/or a huge canucks fan. But hours are scarce in off season and for the lack of hours monthly I feel we should get paid more hourly to compensate.

The environment as a whole is filled with hostile people who lack any motivation to achieve anything in life. From the security guards to the chefs, I have never been around a more miserable group of people. At your work station you stand in a back room for 75% of the time with nothing but white walls to stare at. The work that you do is as boring as watching paint dry - if you think this is some hack to watch free hockey you’ll be disappointed. I don’t think there was anything redeeming about this job, it honestly felt like they didn’t want you there 

As an international student, it's good opportunity to learn something new, how to adapt to fast pace environment, never the same supervisor some of them are really good and care about people working with them some of them can make you feel useless. Definitely, multicultural environment where you can meet a lot of people from all over the world. The hardest part is when you begin to work there as soon as you are done with couple shifts it seems pretty easy sometimes a fun

The Management is really bad. Hire and fire mentality. Chefs are really rude and bossy. Very disrespectful in many ways. If you are a new hire you will have very minimal hours. They will use you up and let you go home as soon as possible. Upper Management does whatever they see fit to make themselves look better, no matter the cost. They make it look and sound so good during the interview and then once hired they will abuse their power knowing you have nowhere to go. It was my worst experience working anywhere.
