Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club

 It was incredibly fulfilling on a personal level working on the grounds crew. Once the former superintendent retired, I was excited to further my career under new Management. What actually happened, lead me to have to leave to protect myself due to the superintendents Human Resource incompetencies. The “family” culture walks the thin line between encouraging and toxic, unfortunately my experience turned very toxic. I do not wish my experience here on another human being, and I hope they learn from their mistakes. At the end of the day, I cannot work under someone who makes their favouritism incredibly apparent, at the detriment of the hard-working and well-intentioned employees on the team. It takes one bad apple to ruin the whole tree, in this case that is true with the new Superintendent. I hope the necessary changes come and that anyone who decides to apply and work here are able to receive the good experience that I felt initially. Sometimes people don't quit jobs, they quit managers. 

A few years ago this place was absolutely to die for, and I personally felt like everybody should work there. Since then it has really gone downhill. They under pay their staff and they don’t give you the actual natural foods that they used to. When I worked there, everything was freshly cut from the fries and the vegetables in the fruits and everything. I have a family member that still works there and now basically everything is frozen or premade. I have had several old coworkers tell me that when they did work there for about a year or two longer that I did that the manager wanted to put their pay lower than they were already receiving. had I made a review three years ago it would’ve been five stars across-the-board


I love working at the golf course. What's different about working here is that you get to know the members on a personal level rather than just seeing their face once in a while. You can start relationships and treat the members as friends rather than customers. The staff and management was great. Working at the snack shop i would make burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, and give or make drinks. This job was really simple and is perfect for a student. During downtimes when it wasn't so busy i was able to study and do school work. I never felt stressed while at work.

Morning meeting, receive first job, check the board for the second job. 30 min lunch. 
I learned how to work with a team, how to operate many different type of machinery a long with how to care for grass and plants.
The management is incredible, easy to work with and very approachable.
Co-workers are also amazing, always working as a team to complete tasks.
Hardest part would be the weather.
Most enjoyable would be the appreciation the bosses show for the employees once a month or more

Do Not Work For This Company.
Terrible environment, Management is Classless, Clueless, hostile to employees.
The management team are maniacal dirtbags. Lie to your face and stab you in the back. Wages are below industry standards and dropping, very cheap golf club. Canyon Meadows golf club is nothing more than an upscale Legion. Legion’s have more class than this outfit.

Excellent work environment and friendly clientele.

Not stressful at all,in fact it is both calming and stimulating.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friendly and relaxed.Inclusive.

Canyon is a great work environment for students and professionals alike! Management communicates well with other members of staff and are accommodating to days off within reason. Full-time summer employment with great hours for students.

The general manager was not very good, ridiculously high expectations, lots of criticism and blame and you never knew exactly where you were at hard to read.
Underhanded at times, 

Good place to work if you want a summer job. Really nice to be outside in the summer, but not easy to get time off. very early hours but good if you’re introverted as you don’t really need to talk with people at this job. 

The job requires early mornings, but because of this, you get off earlier too, so you have the rest of the day to yourself. The people are great and the job always brings something different
