Not flexible and unhelpful management, saying one thing doing another. The head chef/ sous chef  are control freaks. Controlling every step and every snack you ever had, just make sure if you didn't take it from kitchen or any kitchen member didn't prepared it for you. They are not following the rules (specially buffet leftovers - it's garbage after the serving/ members touching, not staff meal next day). Forced staff meal, management deduct from your pay cheque. Lack of employee support, making the work environment feel toxic and unsafe. Specially when you have to commute (bus) there is no flexibility with schedule, management excuse ''someone will give you a ride''.  The servers, golf course ppl are all amazing, and parts of management are very good to work with. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Everyone is kind and helpful.  Perks are decent, especially if you golf, though staff golf is limited or barely available. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Staff call in sick OFTEN! so expect to hustle because of staffing shortages.  Tools for success often not housed in the same spots every week or the club is short of items.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Training is always accessible.  Management is very supportive in day to day service.  Generally everyone has a positive attitude.  Fantastic annual staff events.

Capilano is a nice place to work because of the views and the location. However, management in golf operations needs to be severely improved. 
Outside services is constantly told how important they are to the everyday operations but end up being treated very poorly with bad compensation to match. Reviews are given whenever management feels like it or remembers. Very little communication between golf shop and back shop. 
It’s too bad because the people are great to work with but the management causes too much distaste to come back

Have you ever wanted to work somewhere that treats you like a number and have customers talk down to you then this is your spot. I worked here for about a year and it was possibly the worst job I've ever had management is just conserned with kissing members @$$h01es and worshiping the ground they walk on while they both treat you terribly. Don't get me wrong there's some good ones but the scales are in the wrong direction. If you want to apply because they pay well just remember there is a reason for that ...

The staff is young and fun and although the work is all weather and physical, the camaraderie is great and management fair and flexible. 

Not the stuffy club on the hill you would imagine although the balance between getting work done and not disturbing golfers can be challenging. 

Staff event perks are way more than other golf courses and golf limited to once a week.

There are free staff meals, but they might make you sick. There is free staff golf, but no golf carts and you only get to golf when nobody else is. Most of the people that work there are lifers or students. 
Great place to work if you want to be in the golf industry. 
Not a great place to work if you have any other aspirations.

The venue itself is absolutely stunning, but the management, particularly in the food and beverage department as well as the event coordination, leaves much to be desired. Unfortunately, the quality of service in these areas significantly detracts from the overall experience. Despite the beautiful surroundings, the inefficiencies and shortcomings in management are frustrating and need to be addressed to enhance guest satisfaction.

Where to start......
The management team is far from ideal. Many not knowing what is going on , ability to deal with the tasks at hand. Favoritism and a could care less about our staff behavior.  Extremely toxic to be around and dealing with these types of "leaders"     The non management staff made this work place bearable.    
Every management person was un professional and untrained 

Get to work helping in the care of one of the nicest private golf courses in the country. A typical day consists of either mowing tees or approaches and taking care of greens and bunkers. However, many other odd jobs around the course also need to be done throughout the day.
