Capital Foodservice

While there are many lovely people at Capital Foodservice, the overall company is at odds with itself. There is very poor communication between departments and this leads to never-ending issues with products out of stock, customers not being informed on policy changes, key business metrics results not being ready, etc. 

Every single day there were new and issues cropping up that were not my fault, but were my responsibility to correct as the sales rep. 

Worst of all, they announced suddenly that they were moving from 100% salary to 100% commission for the sales reps, which given the above issues, made no sense. 

It has potential to be a great company, but in my time there I saw no improvement whatsoever.

Also, the job was listing as Monday-Friday but absolutely required hours of work on Sundays every week as orders are going out for delivery on Monday.

I have been with Capital for just over 6 years and they have been the easiest going 6 years. Over the years I have felt like part of a team and not just a number like many trucking companies. The pay is good and the benefits are great! I am given my work load and I complete it without micromanagement or without someone over my shoulder telling me to move faster.  The company is very accommodating and they will do their best to work with employees to make sure there is a proper work/life balance which is one of the most important things to me. The co-workers I work with are great and management is top notch! It is definetly a work place that allows workers to grow and even can be job roles of they are so inclined to do so!

Capital Foodservice is a fantastic place to work.  This is the place to be if you are looking for a company that exudes Customer Service, collaboration, acceptance and plenty of smiles.  Coming to work here has been one of the best decisions I have made.  I feel welcomed, appreciated, listened to and most of all I feel as though I am part of a team that strives to be successful.  This company truly lives by their values, and cares about their employees and customers throughout.  Thank you Capital Foodservice for the opportunity to work at your company! Work life balance is amazing, pay and benefits good. Best job I've ever had in my career. You will have the freedom and flexibility to make your role your own and you will be rewarded for your hard work.

It’s an ok place to work at. The place is extremely mismanaged. The prioritization of night shift is non existent when they’re the ones shipping out all the product. The office staff is over staffed and there’s 5 people doing the job of one. 
The night shift has its own problems. People are using headphones while operation heavy machinery and lack of regard to safety is apparent. The managers don’t care enough to do something about the job and the ones that care can’t do something without committing career suicide.

For the most part, pleasant

I was there for almost a year on term contract.  Majority of staff is great to work with.. Can be stressful in customer service due to customer calling in orders and knowing there are waiting calls.  Time is money for both companies.. 

The pay was fair and employees were well taken care of financially with bonuses etc. However concerns about safety go nowhere, and there was no sense of organization whatsoever. If you're looking for a circus gig join cirque du soleil instead

Very bad culture.
Management has no idea how to run a business.
Pay poorly.
I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.
Customer always complain about customers service.
No team environment there
