- Recruiter lies about everything. 
- Confused, unorganized and poorly trained dispatch team. 
- Constantly screwing up paperwork to cross border or simply forgetting to do it. Sometimes night shift will cancel and not tell you. Three times I showed up at the border and my load had been canceled. 
- Paid only twice a month. Payroll is almost always wrong. Have to fight for missing hours almost every pay period. 
- No raises in three years. 
- Driver manager will scream and yell at drivers. 
- Expect you to start some days at 4 am, and then the next day at 11 am and then back to 4 am start. 
- Almost every week you will have half days. Lots of weeks where you only work 4 or 3 days. In the winter, 2 day work weeks were common. 
- Shop wont work on your truck over night or the weekend. Always go with the cheapest fix. 
- Suggested that I drive past a scale house and 25 miles to a garage with trailer airlines dragging because they didn't want to spend money on a mobile mechanic. 
- Everyone in the office got their jobs because they are family, and because of this nobody really has any idea how to do their jobs. 
- Office staff is visibly stressed and annoyed and over worked. 

I worked for both the asset based (logistics) and brokerage (supply chain) divisions due to my experience and ability to use both systems.  

Management on both ends were not that helpful, they did very little to retain solid staff members on the asset side, the asset management is all family of (sons and daughters of the owners). Brokerage side management will never question the owner, they will only re enforce what he says although his industry knowledge is dated to say the least.  It’s a culture where the company will be sustainable but never grow and they’ll always be looking for new staff on a continuum.  

Wish them all the best as many people there are great individuals and outside of a work setting you’d get along with. 

If you have any respect for yourself and your license,avoid the Calgary terminal !
Totally biased management @ Calgary terminal,safety is a word no one knows there,that guy who runs the shop keeps on smoking in the shop whole,it's a gas chamber,you can barely stand inside the shop,this was one of the reason why i quit apart from being treated in a very biased manner !
What could you expect from a company which can't even provide restroom facilities to their employees at their yard( 40th street and 90 avenue,Calgary) ?????????
It was a shared yard with another container hauling company and their drivers were speeding every time they enter or leave the yard,I personally informed my safety manager and the answer was just ridiculous and with totally spineless attitude !

The best part of working at Caravan was the people that I worked with  during my time in the warehouse and a few of the nice drivers as well as one of the night dispatchers Helen I dealt with during the night security. 

The most difficult part of working at Caravan was...well everything else. My pay was constantly incorrect which took days and weeks to correct. Working at Caravan over all was pretty sub-par due to the management staff I had to work under.

I learned a lot while I worked there mostly about myself so it was a decent experience

A typical day at work was exactly what you'd expect working at a logistics company. Loaded trailers were brought to the dock and we would unload and verify the freight. When the freight was entered into the system we would broker contracts (or work within ones the company had already brokered) and then arrange to have the freight picked up and delivered. We would then load trailers and have drivers deliver them.

The hours were always long and the days could drag on and get dull. Otherwise the job itself was not difficult and the management are friendly and thoughtful.

Based on my personal experience, working at Caravan Group of Companies has been challenging. In my opinion, the work environment lacks fairness and respect, which has led to dissatisfaction among employees, including myself. I have observed practices that contribute to a negative atmosphere, making it difficult to feel valued and supported. If you are considering applying to this company, I recommend researching thoroughly to ensure it aligns with your expectations. A positive workplace should foster stability and respect, and in my view, there is room for improvement at Caravan.

I have been in management for many years. Let me say the interview was very unprofessional and a waste of my time . 
My interview was with HR and 2 other managers I knew it was not a good company to go to when the one lady was just playing on her phone during the interview very uncomfortable and unprofessional. They did not want to talk about business I could bring to company He discussed before the interview we could talk about it does seem like a good environment.and hr said we could discuss due

I've worked for several different companies and I must say this is the worst of the worst. Company culture is  very imperative factor when working for an company, lack of respect from the "upper management" is absolutely appalling. Simple questions that require simple answers are hard to give from management. Your left to fend for yourself. They will smile in your face and have everything negative to say behind your back. Disgusting! Don't waste your time and work here!

They don't really care about drivers and lots of drivers quit this company and most of them have been working for Caravan for 3+ years. At the moment they are in big trouble of finding decent drivers and hiring  new guys with little or no experience at all. They show no respect to their old employees and this is company official policy. They are hiring new dispatch weekly but got no improvement at all.

Over all pretty good. Newer equipment  payroll made a little weak but pretty good
