I work with staff dementia care homes throughout surrey.
as well as training all members of the team on many subjects including dementia, sova, moving & handling and health & safety, I am also health & safety and Infection control lead. I work with management to ensure good quality care is provide for vulnerable elderly clients. I work alongside management ininterviews, audits,supervisions, PDRS, staff meetings, rotas, care planning.
I do not have a typical day as every day i am a productive member of the team, so some days it is management based and other days training based and i am learning something new on a daily bases.
I work alongside many members of staff of many different back grounds, cultures and some with learning/language difficulties, I appriciate all the staff for the work they do for the residents who live in the homes.
The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing the residents living a quality live and ensuring that all their needs are meet. I enjoy learning new aspects of the job and supporting the career development of the work force.

Words can not express how bad it was working for this company. Management were terrible and they do not care whether your child is sick or in hospital or even if your in bad health, you will be put down to work. If you have set days that you can only work, they don't care, you will be put down on the rota to work on those days. Forget taking annual leave, they'll tell you cant take your leave dates for a stupid reason. Work culture is disgusting, people have their own clique and wont help you, they will watch you struggle. Members of staff talk about your personal life with everyone and you end up feeling humiliated every time you come on shift. Only thing that was good about working with them was pay day! If you have children and health needs, do not work for this company.

At first, this job was very exciting and so different to all the other jobs I had. Such as retail. Management and staff were polite and helpful. 

After my first year I started to see colleagues true colours. There's a lot of gossip and blaming going around rather than actual teamwork. A lot of workers like to use shortcuts which can be dangerous to residents. Some Nurses are too lazy to get involved and help and like to keep themselves to themselves which sometimes makes it difficult if you can't get any help as your colleagues are busy. 


The job is very challenging but also very rewarding.

People are all friendly and welcome you when you start and if there is anything you are nervous about you only have to ask and  the team or staff will be more than welcome to help you.They totally care if you have personal problems and say a emergency at home happened like it did me.my senior was totally understandable and they all were very thoughtful when came back asking how my mum was.A good company to work for and will help you with mental health issues etc and help you by accommodating what you are able and not able to do.

Nothing except stressed at work

I do really thank care Uk for giving chance to show lm a good worker and the staff are amazing as well we all work as a team very happy . Every day difference but it also nice to chat with our lovely residents and a laugh with them. Our manager is amazing and our home also is very clean 

Care uk are amazing regardless of experience. They have given me lots of indepth training as well as allowed me to learn as I work. They care a lot about the residents and staff. I would recommend them to anyone looking for care work 

I have been working with the company since 2017.
Very well structured, supportive and offers multiple benefits. The company supports colleagues with growth, has a variety of trainings and cannot be more grateful that I am representing the company’s values and visions with proudness and satisfaction.

A typical al say is about meeting the individual needs of the residents in accordance to the care plan. I look forward to seeing and interacting with the residents and working with some of the staff. Sometimes it's quite toxic working with some set of people.
