What is the best part of working at the company?
In my position as a driver I was responsible to secure wheelchair passengers and assist people with disabilities on recreation trips and occasional patient transfers. My Carewest colleagues, facilities recreation staff and dispatchers were a pleasure to work with and I enjoyed my time there. It was a valuable experience. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Sometimes differently shaped wheelchairs are harder to secure. Patience & experience and working with staff or asking for additional training is the key to success. Dispatchers and drivers were always helpful and supportive. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Polite and professional. Ongoing learning through online courses are a regular part of your employment. I appreciated the focus on safety and the supportive environment.  My fellow drivers were excellent people and I was proud to be a member of the team. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Even a tough day was a good day. 
Check in by phone at the beginning of your shift. Pre-& post-trip inspections, arrive at a facility to load passengers for a recreation trip. Accompany the group, sometimes while the group was at their event you may be called to help out by washing your bus, going to the shop or helping with a client transfer. Or help another driver take a bus to the shop.  Keep your bus tidy & fuelled, take out the garbage and have it ready for the next day.

A typical day at Carewest Fanning Centre is all FSA helping together to finish the orders (ex. sandwiches, salads, muffins) to be sent out to all other Carewest sites. I believe that I learned how to communicate softly and genuinely with one another as you have to work with senior coworkers. In terms of the management, they are very professional, friendly, and understanding to their staff and they really hold them accountable for what will make it a better place to work at Carewest Fanning Centre. The hardest part of the job is basically lifting heavy boxes, items like pork loin, unboxing all protein boxes, receiving items on delivery day, and organizing the fridge and freezer. The most enjoyable part of the job is the food. You work and during break time, you can absolutely have enough time to just relax at your own time. 

This facility was designed for the WWII vets and those that followed after them.  The different sections of the facility were named after either different battleships or places where battles took place.  The residents mostly suffered from Dementia or Alzheimer's disease and they were the nicest, sweetest and best escape artists you would ever come across.  Everyday I would go into work and I would have a new "boyfriend" constantly.  One gentleman in particular would see me through my window and wheel himself into my office just to hold my hand and fall asleep beside me.  The staff were the best and always so patient and kind to the residents.  

I was always proud to tell people where I worked and what this facility was all about.  Always went home with a smile and a story to tell.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Communication is great with peers. They also ensure that everyone is having fun and doing their job properly.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful thing is moving wheelchairs I would have to say. It’s risky and scary to do and there is a lot of unexpected things that could happen

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment there is very serious and at the same time welcoming. People are on task all the time but it’s something people actually enjoy doing.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day is me walking in, signing in, grabbing my ID and setting up the recreational event that I do. I then move residents to the locations they need to be during the event and have fun with them.

I work with Alzheimer`s and Dementia residents. I have enjoyed the smiles I get, the hugs and the occasional ``I am so glad to see you``.
A typical day is the residents and taking care of their daily needs such as bathing, dressing and feeding. Because they have forgot how to do these things. I work with different cultures and different people. I have had to learn how not to step on peoples toes because they have a different idea about how to do  our job. I think the hardest part of my job is when the resident has to say good bye, when they are in the last days of their life. Because you get so close to them and it makes you cry for your loss and their families.  My manager is a nice person. He just started a while ago. So we all had to get used to his rules and how he likes things done. But now we get things done as a team.

My day at work starts with the computers:  check BMS, emails, work requisitions and plan the day with my co-worker and go to work.  Beside the demand works, I perform preventative maintenance,  communicate to all related personnel, coach my co-worker, fill up purchasing requisitions, deal with contractors, and so on.  Throughout the years, I have learned many technical skills as well interpersonal skills. The hardest part of the job is that there is nobody to ask when I face difficult problems.  The most enjoyable part of the job is that I can solve the problems for people and help them out.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working at the company is when you meet the expectations of each residents to have a good and quality food. And socializing with them to make them feel how to serve them like their own home. 


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
As long as your working with your own supervisions and have proper time management , there is no such things as stress on doing your duties.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The facility and the people like staff nurse, health care aid . Co- worker . They knew how to respect and how to. Have good relations with each other

As a health care aid in a busy semi hospital/senoirs care or we call complexity care ,i learned new and good initaitive ways to comlete care to seniors whose dealing with thier daily ac tivities in life bywhich the respect and dignity of themselves shouldnt be take away while on their final stage of life .Being the care aid ,i put my shoes on and straighgt to care in my everyday shift i had to deal with and set aside all the stress in mind and body while in my care of each client at work site to give [positive outlook to fulfill the best care i provide without any negative behaviour displayed in each care i gave.

The job is very fast paced & is a lot of work so don't expect to have a steady paced job here. Poor management who makes you deal with the conflicts with other coworkers. Huge Philippines community in these facilities no matter where you go & they are back stabbers & report you each chance they get. The pay is good so if it's worth dealing with drama on a daily with no back up, then by all means, apply

My typical day at work is to care for people, perform morning care and provide assistance to people. I have actually learn alot working with people and understanding their needs. I also manage my time effective in order to get my job done on time and accurately. I work very well with people, i love team work because it makes working go smooth. The hardest part about the job is when other coworkers are not doing their job the way they should. The most enjoyable part about the job is getting to meet people daily and having knowledgeable experience. Amazing place to work
