understaffing and overworking seemed to be a chronic issue.

on some shifts, I would have maybe ~1-2 other staff members working alongside me. on other shifts, I would be the only one working at the front for a few hours. on those latter days, I would be expected to restock certain small items by myself. this was difficult, since I was juggling everything else expected of my FoH work by myself.

the manager onsite was pleasant at first, but became difficult to interact with later on. they wanted me to eventually get a handle on working FoH with what I believe included little to no help, something that speaks volumes about how they view employees.

after about three months of working, I was also cut off from receiving more shifts with little in the way of explanation. when I asked about it, said manager claimed I would receive shifts at some point. naturally, this never happened. they also reiterated something to the effect of "we need people who can handle FoH work by themselves", which I find irksome.

overall, working here was a very stressful experience. it's been awhile since I last had a shift there, so I'm not sure how much has changed. but I would like to urge any future applicants to, first, get a good lens on how employees are treated at their Carl's Jr. location (and not just by asking on the interview; ordering from the same location, for example)

I worked at Carl's Jr for over a year, and at first it was great. Management appeared to like me, all my coworkers were focused and efficient, and because it was a new restaurant, the customers were quite understanding of any mistakes. Unfortunately, about 3 months in, more than half of the staff was fired, and I was kept on. It was a slippery downward slope from this point. I was suddenly given tasks such as cleaning the bathroom and sweeping the entire restaurant every single shift that I worked, and none of my coworkers ever helped or were assigned to these tasks. My manager became very impatient and rude toward me, and would schedule me on days that I couldn't work, then punish me by taking away my hours when I clarified this detail with them. It was an independent store, too, so I didn't really have any kind of HR support. Most of the time, we only had 2 people working the entire FOH, and like 3 kitchen staff. We were so severely understaffed, yet they refused to hire anyone.

Worked at the very first restaurant that opened in Toronto on St. Clair and Yonge. It was alright I guess. I did about 4 shifts per week but for some reason the hours were too short. I would always have to talk to my managers about my schedule though because they were always scheduling me for days I told them would not work for me. When I asked them if I could get more hours on the days I requested they said they don't know and would check and get back to me. Never checked, never got back to me. Its simple the managers were just lazy. 

Had to leave the country for a few days due to a family emergency and when I came back I found out that I was replaced. Manager said it was because I was on probation and didn't tell him before I left (even though I did a few times days before I left) AND I emailed him. 

Was thinking about quitting anyways. The hours were too short and they were doing nothing about it.

Simply loved working there though. Friendly co-workers, friendly customers and positive environment.

a typical day at work is always make people happy. Also make sure the food your serving to people is very personable and tastes very good.

you always learn new thing for your coworkers and form the management. communication with other and problem solving is the key because without those thing you would not get along with others and learn new this around you

management team are very nice to everyone. they always teach you new thing to make you skill grow. also my sometime give free food if you worked very hand and when you cant afford the food they just give you food.

the co-worker are very nice, just make sure your also nice to them. they always help you with things. make your feel good if your feeling down and very friendly people.

they are no hardest part of the job because you have to make sure you positive and think smart. if you do that your job will be hard and unsatisfying,.

the most enjoyable part of the job is getting free food, making new friends and enjoy working.

Yeah, so it might be partially my fault I had a hard time working here. This was my first ever job and my parents only allowed me to work once a week, so I couldn't remember much of the training. My location was not busy at all, thus I barely ever had to work the cash register, so I couldn'f for the life of me remember how to use it. I was told to "always look busy," and I ended up sweeping and mopping the entire floor and cleaning both washrooms several times throughout my 4-5 hour shifts. I was bored out of my mind, and was always anxious whenever I was told to take orders.

I once had to miss work because I was sick, and I never got scheduled again, so I kinda had to quit through Whatsapp. Dunno what was up with that.

Anyway, I don't recommend working at Carl's Jr., or any fast food place, really.

It is a very slow, tiring place. I work at the front of the restaurant, I clean organize and make sure that everything is perfect. I am the main leader if I am working with any coworkers so I give them jobs to do to help maintain the place. I serve the food and ask how everything was and make sure that the customer has everything they need because they come first. The management isn't the best, they like to take advantage of you, if you don't let them know that you can work they don't book you at all. They make the schedule very last minute. It gets to be very irritating. It is a very big range of ethnics and friendly coworkers. The most enjoyable part of the job is being surrounded by nice friendly faces, I worked there full time so I got to recognize familiar faces and get to know the guests.

I work well with my co-workers. Our day's go as normal, we attend to customer's, making sure they are well accommodated and comfortable, while ensuring we offer 5 Star Customer Service.
I'm they're Star Team Member, and helped my boss, receive a plaque of recognition of his outstanding job, with ensuring Ultimate Customer Service, and raking in the most money in the business, this side of the border. I bus tables, attend to customers, always smiling, returning to they're tables, making sure they're well accommodated, & I deliver they're orders. On very busy day's, I will also help the front line workers in making and preparing orders. I do a lot of cleaning when I'm not attending to customers, making sure the windows, washrooms, and parking lot are clean and attractive. My team members are my family.

During this shift I would check the bathrooms when I first arrived, as that the bathrooms always needed to be clean because we got busy for often. The staff were very kind and welcoming to someone new and trained me the best way they could. I also would be helping customers and cleaning the restaurant lobby at the same time as restocking. When it would get busy, I was always looking for the next thing to do. Whether that be to retrieve something on the order list, or to serve it to the customer. I often went back and forth between working the drive thru and working the front. I respected my original assigned position but I enjoy helping staff members and customers as soon as I can.

As a front of house, you go in, put on your uniform and clock in. You handle the till and bring orders to the customers' tables.  Always check that everything is fully stocked as much as possible. If you close, you have to sweep and mop all the floors, wipe the tables and put the chairs up, put the pop fountain's nozzles away and restock everything. 

I learned how to multitask and be attentive at the same time.

Management was very nice, my manager was very supportive and encouraging.  The shift managers were very nice too. The work culture is very nice I enjoy working with my coworkers a lot.

Working at Carl's JR was fun, I very much enjoyed the experience, my boss loved me, as I followed all the duties required of me, during training from opening day. My Co-Workers were younger than me, and always had something funny to say about anything. Interacting with the customers was fun, I enjoyed it. I met new people, and also had a worker-customer relationship with regulars. My duties kept me busy, and made the working day, go by fast. .
