Started off really good under old management, there were lots of incentives and perks for employee appreciation which compensated for the lower entry level pay. After new management was in place all incentives and perks were discontinued and staff were treated poorly. Management has changed again since I left so I cannot comment on the current work environment.

Management is very dedicated and encouraging of all staff.  Customer service is great.  The workplace culture is very strong.  The customers are demanding but overall the job is very satisfying.  The hours are scheduled and the job requires commitment.  But if you are ambitious and want to work the compensation is top notch and the opportunity for advancement is great.

typical day at work fast paced with a lot of data entry.
most of your day is spend taking in items that are being pawned with sales volumes in between customers.
management was present at all times and willing to help learn. hardest part of the job would be the rude and obnoxious customers throughout the week.

I enjoyed the job itself working here. You learn a lot about  the value of things, particularly gold and diamonds. Always an opportunity to learn something new every day, and fun work environment. This company changed ownership a few times while I worked there though which made everything seem unorganized and upper management always stressed  

They will ask you to do unsafe work. They are very unsupportive of making sure staff get their breaks and they do not manage the workload appropriately. They are extremely understaffed but very rarely hire. People who have been hired quit within the first week. 

Always something new going on and the staff are great! Learning to pawn broke is fun and engaging. The new owners of the company show they care for their employees and celebrating accomplishments is always a huge part of the culture! There is a reason they don't hire very often!

Millwoods Cash canada was the best place ive ever worked.

Wage + comission if your a good seller, and amazing oppurtunity to hear so many incredible stories.

My Manager was also my favourite human.

Working here was really hard because you run into some people down on their luck. You hear their stories. Working here you have to be the hardest person Or lack emotional connection to humility.

Very poor management and high turnover of staff. Low work morals and high turnover of staff. Expected to work overtime but not paid for it. Poor communication. 

One of the most interesting jobs I had, get to see all sorts of items and research the MSRP and base loan amounts on this, market trends, value long term and clients overall history. I enjoyed it then ..however I do hear it changed alot since then.
