Cassie Campbell Community Centre

A typical day at work consists of waking up to get to work for 8 in the morning, sometimes 3 in the afternoon. You would have to take down attendance, check kids for any kind of allergies or injuries. Going through your day planner and following it, sometimes even making up newer or better games to play. Or something new to teach (example: badminton techniques, art techniques, and new sports ideas). The management did need some work but other that they do, do their jobs. There is no hard part about the job, as long as you are creative and a quick thinker. Everything will get done. Lastly, the. most enjoyable part of the job is meeting new kids, learning about what kids can do and if they cant teach them. Working at Cassie is a great beginners experience, for someone who wants to do child work.

Needs improvement in terms of respecting needs for all of the cultures and diversity. Need more varieties in terms of food options available at all of the community centres such as Vegetarian, Halal, Gluten free options in order to encorage more people being able to use the community centre comfortably. Overall, in terms of facilities, some centres are better than the others. Every community centre try and must look into accomodating needs of most communities residing in Canada. Just a general view, otherwise excellent work done until now.

It is very normal, which is good, because there are no major issues to deal  with. I have learned to put the well-being of my community before my own in the job. The management, is great, and they have a great idea on how to operate and guide everyone. The workplace culture is fantastic, with attention to perfection and sophistication. The hardest part of the job is also the most important part of the job, serving the community's every needs, but it is easy to work around. It is also the most enjoyable part of the job, as we can see the joy in helping other people.

LIFEGUARD: Maintained constant surveillance of patrons in the facility and acted immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency. Trained to provide emergency first aid and running crowd control in the event of a major emergency. 
SWIM INSTRUCTOR: Provided competent and safe instructions using recognized lead–up skills and initiatives provided by the Lifesaving Society. Planned and efficiently organized class time for maximum practice of students through weekly lesson plans.

I volunteered at Cassie Campbell Community Center for the learn to skate program. It was very stressful as there was just too much responsibility for one volunteer. Training did not really prepare me but other than it is a little stressful, I recommend being a Skating Instructor or Volunteer Skating Instructor (if you need community service hours) because it is pretty simple if you have the experience.

As a swimming instructor and lifeguard you really learn the importance of knowing how to swim due to the potential threats that water can impose. Also, by teaching kids to swim, not only do you need excellent leadership and authoritative skills, you also learn to communicate with parents on their children's progress and behaviour in the water.

For the most part while I was a swim instructor, I enjoyed it. The hours worked perfectly as I worked part time after school. It was a fairly fun and and friendly environment. The management team was great, they were understanding and never hesitated to help you.  What I most enjoyed about the job was going in and helping students learn new skills each and every shift.

I loved working for Cassie Campbell. Management was great. The co -workers were equally as great. Good positive atmoshere. The best part of the job was interacting with members and staff. The only downfall was the salary and the minimal opportunity to get full-time employment.

I really enjoyed working for the city of Brampton. The pay was good at the time and they worked around my school schedule. It was also very easy to talk to the supervisors and managers about any issues that I had weather they be work related or personal.

Lots of areas in the building that you can work in if they are looking for work. Once you're in, you have access to working at all rec centers in the city.
