The building and atmosphere is very nice at first. Big building, gym, kitchen, and complimentary coffee/tea.

I will get to assist many departments, learn a bit of everything.  Cleaning, stocking coffee and tea throughout the building, washing dishes for 100+ employees (yes, seriously), collect ALL the mugs and scrub them, filing, invoices, mailing, catering (it gets more specific and they're very picky), and many more additional (sometimes not part of your job descript.) work will be given to you, 

Many employees are very kind and friendly. But certain employees there can have very interesting attitudes, especially if they're asking you for something or for assistance.  

Their workplace culture sounds very nice, but sometimes I question if they actually follow through what they say. If your position isn't really high, or not a high title, you're basically treated like animals. You're not paid for the amount of workload you're given.

As you start getting used to the work and people there, the management in certain departments are very poor.  They will do anything to keep cost low and as little work as possible for them to resolve a problem.  Some managers of certain departments are not helpful, and will redirect you to your own resources to solve an issue. 
Just not worth it.

Since I was employed as a temporary summer student, I was excluded from certain responsibilities such as operating the forklift.

The bulk of the work involved cleaning MWD equipment, sometimes using corrosive chemicals. When time permitted, other tasks such as cleaning up and organizing the workshop were also performed.

Workload depended on events in other places in the company and was inconsistent. A day's work ranged from cleaning only a few parts then organizing shelves and counting inventory, to cleaning parts for the whole work day.

The conversation during work cultivated a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. I have no complaints about the management.

Lunches were provided on most days for $5. The quality and quantity of food provided far exceeded the $5 price. Carbonated beverages, coffee, and tea were provided for free. Breaks from physical work could be taken at will within reason. These privileges were not abused to my knowledge.

The job was somewhat physical, but I had no problems performing the work despite being not particularly fit.

No wonder their business is getting smaller and smaller, the whole management level is very poor, mean and unfair. People are treated very badly, it is so surprising this is still happening in this type of company. During my stay in that company, I did work with some great workers but honesty some manager's attitude and working style is disgusting. 

They pretend on their website they have fair, collaborative working environment, but actually what really happens there is a totally different story. The CEO of this company either don't want to see this or admit, or they are fooled by the mangers under them.

it can be very personal when it comes to the decision for the work, and obviously it is really harmful to the company and the top management will never know or care.

The benefits and culture they promote on their webpage falls very short in actual delivery.

Management on the well testing side are pretty much technologically inept and are not very innovated.  They rarely support an employee in the event of grievance (i.e. harassment) even when it is blatantly obvious. 

They only maintain equipment when it’s necessary or broken and even then, the fixes they allow you to do are only at a ‘Band-Aid’ level just to get up and running.  There is a poor safety culture driven from headquarters by people who rarely go to the field or understand field operations.

There is a +70% attrition rate of field personnel leaving within the first month.  If you get hurt on the job, then a lot of the time the investigation puts fault on the Employees.

it's a jam pack day for the IT department because of short staff. Member are asked to take turns to work after hours evenings and weekends even though officially you are hired to work 37.5 hours a week. Too many new hires that will not stay long enough with the company so training newbies is part of the day to day routine. You could never complete your own duties and request because of this. You have to bring your work home and this consumes all your evening and weekends. This interfer with your own personal life. Your work is alway taken for granted. There were too many broken promises like a carrot dangling in front of the donkey. No promotion is insight for any one in the IT Department.

What is the best part of working at the company?
At one point the people were the best part. Used to really feel like a family.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The office politics or feeling like your manager had your back but in reality didn't. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
In the beginning, it was great. I think the environment and culture anyone would want to be apart of but as time went on (2020 onward) it was very toxic with new executives and management coming in. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Administrative based work. In the office Monday to Friday

My position is challenging, busy with extended travel.  Many leaders of the company are founders and are committed to the company's well being.  The company's values are always in the interest of the Company's health, that in return support a fair and equitable place to work.  There are no outrageous perks or pay programs for a few, and instead traditional, paternal programs that care for the greater benefit of all employees. Our industry is exciting and every changing, with fast paced expectations from all.  Generally speaking, all Cathedral employees are high performers, with a common goal to succeed in their career.  I'm proud to be a part of it.

Best advice coming in here is immediately identify what your Boss/company requires most of your position and deliver as quick as possible. Attention to detail is a must and never get swayed by any promises. I learnt a lot from this company and my supervisor was one of the best people I worked with. Always trust your instincts and never get too comfortable. Ask as many questions as possible when you can and make sure your work is as good as it can be as you security is depends on you quality of work, ability to work with little or no supervision and general reliability. I worked here for 2 years, I absolutely loved my job but unfortunately due to my co workers I couldn’t stay. Every mistake you made seemed to be a huge deal and you were often made to feel horrible about it. It got to the point where you’d be so anxious to make mistakes that it would cause you to make more mistakes and would need reassurance you were doing the job correctly out of fear of making another mistake. The manager was very understanding and encouraging to do better, but sometimes came off harsh. The pay was great for the work and the job was fun.

As a consultant, the hours were flexible and was allowed to instigate projects as the company required and needed. Every day was a learning and enjoyable experience. My position required me to adapt to problems as they came up. To investigate and analysis client, personnel and drilling issues. A day consisted of working as a team with field personnel, marketing personnel, management and clients. 

The hardest part of the job would be dealing with the client.
