What is the best part of working at the company?
Community. The best part about working at Cedarglen Homes is the fact that we treat each other with kindness and that brings together a sense of; Community, where everyone can come and feel appreciated and valued. In a workplace setting, that's an absolute jem!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Honestly busy season, there's nothing really stressful about the day to day operations we face, unless it's busy season. Like I mentioned, with community and teamwork, working days aren't so stressful and daunting. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Have each others back - that's at the head of Cedarglen Homes' core values. Without having each others back, a company can crumble overnight. By having each others back, when a coulege might drop a sensitive document by accident, we take the time to help them up again and make sure they have all their information, for example, or a teammate might leave a tool or belonging behind on site and someone else will grab it for them bringing it to the next site. That's having each others back and that's why I love working at Cedarglen Homes

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I go to work and I apply working knowledge in a safe and controlled work environment using different practices and application equipment to proficiently and efficiently complete the work required throughout the working day - and then i am usually home by 6 to have dinner with the wife. Very easy to accomplish work\life balance here.

As a site supervisor your role is to be a hands on from cleaning sites to customer meet ups, walk through, mile stone inspections, site carpentry and after possession service calls and inspections.

Start up at 7, Run through build progress of each home, attend scheduled service calls, 60 day inspections, 1 year inspections, after framing inspections, build tub decks and frame in fireplaces install garage stairs. Near the end of the day you will have to ensure all your fencing is in place and site secured. Take pictures and upload. 

Management was good especially as a site supervisor, The construction manager at during my career was a true leader. Lead by example. 

Work place culture was good when I started and as my career progressed you started to see the clique.  The good site supervisors  let go and those that were not a good moved up. 

They had a cross fit gym that was a good place to end your day.

The hardest part of the job was to get recognition for what you do. I found that the better you were at your job the more you're given to do. Like help those that are not as focused on the daily tasks. 

The most enjoyable was as a young bright eyed guy I was able to become a site supervisor where you were given the responsibility of site supervising and the hands on active role of a laborer.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The gas allowance  and the short Fridays

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The lack of respect, blatant nepotism. Company values and departmental living values do not align.  Department is not interested in change.  Lots of “family” drama.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The company boast Love not fear but the department environment is more fear not love.  The paint department was toxic and lots of drama.  Leadership was not interested in enforcing company policy on family and friends.  As another reviewer said if you were outside the circle you did all the work.  Many good painters have left or were  let go, because they weren’t part of that inner circle.  At first glance one might think  the other reviews were just angry former employees but there is so much truth in it.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
If you were part of the core group you would show up for work late, hide around corners, be on your phone constantly.  You could take extra long breaks and lunch.  Stairwells would take hours to mud.  
Outsiders and new employees would be doing the majority of painting, with little to no recognition.  Company rules only applied to you.

You're lead, tell you what to do. And then you do it while everybody else stands around talking.

what you believe you learned,
Air knot UP 4 teaching you nothing. So if you don't know it, you don't do it.


management,
They will lie directly to your face. Just to keep you happy if you're not part of the family, they don't care about you. Because most of them, are family members, so if you're not part of that family, they don't care about you or if you're not part of the family's friends, they still don't care about you.

There is multiple culture in this company. And they will still talk behind your back about your culture.

the hardest part of the job,
You work your shut off while everybody stands around talking. Because they are family an family friends.

the most enjoyable part of the job
Your typical see a job joking laughing having a good time.

At first it is intimidating to work at which is normal when working in a new company and new people. But I’m only working my first almost 2 months and it feels like I’ve been working here for so long because everyone in the team doesn’t make you feel out of place. The work is itself is really demanding but honestly it’s so fun to work in different places and meeting new people in different trades. The Cleaning team have the best support system and friendliest people to work at. And honestly every job is hard but when you have a great team that is understandable and expand your capabilities is a good place to work at. 

I personally find satisfaction in creating a clean and organized environment that benefits everyone but working for Cedarglen has shown me :

Working with CedarGlen Homes has been a great experience. The staff are friendly, respectful, and create a welcoming environment where everyone is treated fairly. There’s a strong sense of teamwork and good human relations across the board. I also appreciate the job stability and well-structured hours, which make it easier to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Overall, it’s a positive and supportive place to work.



Cedarglen has a lot of positives when it comes to a place to work. The people are nice and they have good processes in place to train and support the employees. Unfortunately if you want to grow in your career, they are not set up for that at all, and the workflow is a very small cycle so it gets very repetitive. 

While Cedarglen builds a great product, this was the most horrifying and traumatizing work experience. Overtime is common and unrecognized. 

If you are an LGBT professional, it is highly recommended that you apply elsewhere.

i’ve been on the clean team for almost 3 years now and i have had unconditional support from everyone here. i feel so comfortable around all of my co workers and the manager is very friendly and super kind. every new hire gets feedback and support to help them excel here, i recommend this job :)
