Management varied widely in quality.  Employees with experience are frequently not given precedence over new employees in terms of scheduling the number of hours worked, times of day requested, etc.  The owner appears indifferent to this behaviour.  Flexible in terms of extended leaves and returning to the job after months.  Most managers are fair and treat employees facing health or home life challenges well, however.  The store environment is generally low-pressure and the job is not demanding.

No benefits or job security for part-time employees, who comprise most of the staff.  No department but the Meat Department has gotten raises in the past two years and none will again.  Almost all part-time employees are paid minimum wage for the duration of their employment.  Occasional raises given to long-term staff.  This can be attributed to the anticipated sale of the store in approximately two years and squeezing by the larger stores in the area.

The store is maintained to the bare minimum and things often malfunction - the store is old.  There are numerous safety violations, particularly in the Meat Department where none of the blades have guards on them.  The First Aid kits are old, dirty and only partially equipped.  A serious accident several weeks ago where an employee fell and hit his head was quickly played down by the manager on duty.

Run more like a prison than a business. Management does not care about you at all, and does whatever is most beneficial to them and their small clique of favorites. Extreme nepotism, many employees have been there for decades, and unless you know one of them, are unlikely to get a job or good shifts. The owner is unwilling to meet with employees regarding issues, and always sides with management. Seniority doesn't matter at all, some employees have worked there for 20+ years and only make minimum wage. They'll work you like a dog until you're fed up then move onto the next person with no regards for you. Avoid at all cost.

If you're looking for a job that has decent hours (for part-time) and is pretty easy this is a good place. But no further career advancement, Owner and managers can be sexist (and don't like young people), and they don't care about employees (or sometimes even customers) . Their staff room is an old metal table where customers can see when they go to the bathroom

Greet customers, ensure cash register was counted and ready for the day, process lotto, debit/credit, cash payments. Grab all expired meats and rotate stock, wrap and labelled goods.

all managers are extremely nice and care about all employees. the staff is fun to be around and are easy to get along with. the hardest part about the job is standing for 5 or more hours and dealing with grumpy customers. the most enjoyable part about the job is getting to know the regular customers and have daily talks with them.

Working here is fun until you've worked there for a while. Management has no regard for seniority and fails to give hours as promised. Owner is terrible and always tries to find a reason to try to get you in trouble. Corners are cut everywhere and nothing is done to fix things when they break (even when it causes safety issues). Wouldn't recommend working here.

If you've never had a job then this one can work to get some experience under your belt. However I wouldn't recommend staying for any more than 2-3 years. Little to no promotional opportunities, and no pay raise, even after asking and considering inflation. Worked here for almost 4 years and saw little benefit from it.

I am cashier in Central Fresh Market and I am very friendly with customers and also I am very organized. 
Usually I'm working at 7 to midnight, two or three days a week.
I love my job but they have just part time for every employee's and I need more hours 
 for this reasonI'm looking for second job too.

The place is owned and run by the greasiest owner I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. He will try to slide everything he can by you. He never gives his loyal employees ANY reason to be loyal.  Was the worst work experience of my life. I would work in a sewer before I ever worked here again.

- Minimum wage pay.
- No prospect of any raises.
- No union or pension.
- Overly crusty (to the point of being phony) management.
- Repetitive, uninspiring, boring.
- Can't make a career out of this kind of work. It won't pay the bills.
