A typical day working at Champs was help customers with shoes, clothing, hats, backpacks all the way down to socks & insoles. If I weren't helping customers, I would be in the back shifting shoe boxes, organizing the clothes in the back. Or fixing the shoe wall and filling empty holes. making the store look nice for every customer that walks in. I liked working there because customers that walked in would talk about sports which I could keep up with until soccer came into subject. Most days were slow, but when we had a fast day, we really had a fast day. I enjoyed working with the people I work with. Management tho, Not the greatest. schedule's were always mixed up, hours got cut way back. Hence why I don't work there anymore.The part I liked most out of my job is probably shifting boxes in the back. I could be in the back for my whole shift of work doing that, Listening to music organizing all the shoe boxes. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The company does not care about your best interest and underpay you, and when you ask head office or company for anything, they will avoid it at all costs and find a way to terminate you.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I worked for a company for 17 years and if you had any knowledge, it was not a good thing, you don’t really get to advance and you work really hard and it’s not appreciated

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I did love working for sports company, they do have amazing clothing and products, but as years went on they seem to have less than less and prices went higher and higher

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
When we had a good staff it would run great but I find many kids don’t wanna work now so as a manager, I was doing a lot of the work, mainly opening, making sure all paperwork is done. Emails are sent receiving shipment getting product on floor trying to keep it organized and clean.

A typical day of work at Champs wasn't even considered work due to the fun and light atmosphere. It was like going to a close friend's home and socializing with people you feel comfortable with along with meeting new people that were instantly added to the circle.

I learned that organization and communication plays a major role in the retail industry.

The management was maintained at a respectful yet approachable state - You knew your manager as the one to report to and etc. but this didn't mean your voice was ignored because you were an employee of lower status than the boss.

Co-workers supported one another especially in stressful and hectic situations. They were your backup when things would pile up endlessly.

The hardest part of the job is not fulfilling the needs of the customer.

The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to see fellow employees along with organizing the new stock of clothing everyday.

A typical day at work would be going out on the floor, greeting customers when they entered the store and farewell's when they left, helping customers find what shoes or clothing they need for whatever reason they will be using them for. I learned a lot about the difference in some shoes that might seem similar to some people but have big differences. Management was great, I would've liked to get more hours though. My co-workers were all great people who I believe all have the potential to do whatever they put their minds to. The hardest part of the job would have been having to put up with some customers who would give us a hard time if they didn't like how we did something or their views/opinion on somethings. The most enjoyable part of the job is that it was always fun.

A typical day at work includes making sure customers needs and want are met to the best of our abilities. I have learned a lot about customer service and making sure I have the skills to accomplish what I need to during the day. Management is great. They have taught me a lot about what I know. Co-workers are so much fun to work with, a very cultural store so you're constantly learning new things every day. The hardest part of the job would have to be not buying all of the new sneakers coming out. Don't really have a lot of problems because if there are any questions/concerns the managers are always there to help. The most enjoyable part of the job is having "regulars" come into the store asking for you because you made their experience enjoyable the last time they were at your store.

a typical day at work consisted of being on time, and being comfortable with each other. It also consisted of being in and out of the stock room. What I learned was that the customer is always right, and that you can always put your personal opinion on what shoe or piece of clothing the customer should purchase but not in a way where it seems like you're forcing it on them. My managers were down to earth people, they had a real sense of humor, always kept it professional, and knew what they were doing. The hardest part of the job was when the customer picked a shoe, you needed to remember the size and the SKU (also known as the numbers on the bar-code). The most enjoyable part about the job was just being around good people, and having fun on the side but while keeping it professional.

Fun place to work however work can get intense when the store becomes busy because the company is always trying to save hours. In other words, they are too poor to hire more employees. There is no such thing as a sick call at this place which is pretty ridiculous. I sick called once in my entire year of employment and was forced to come in because they don't have anyone to come in. The store is always running into staffing issue which is a direct result of their poor wages. You will never get a raise at this job, stuck at minimum wage. The commission is a joke and only gets seen during back to school or Christmas shopping seasons. Only raise you get is when you are promoted to a higher position. Would be a more fun place to work if there were more people to work with.

Come in to work ready for the day and to start things going. First id walk around the store before i even punched in to make eye of what needs to be done. With the environment i was placed in it was always good vibes so saying "hi" and a fist bump to everyone was a must. 
Clock in see, right after checked what orders came in. fixed the ques, took new and old clothes of the hangers. As that was done, i'd take out the boxes that were shipped in and took the clothes out the box to be fixed, folded and put up on display. 

Hardest part of the job is at the start of the first go around. Figuring out the back of the store and finding the shoes. As task of figuring out where all the shoes and stocks are from; women's, men's, kids, to where the brands are and sizes.

My experience @ Champs Sports is great!

The Management is hard working and will work with you.
Co-workers are upbeat and each share a passion for shoes.
The hardest part might be finding shoes in the back room only when it is not organized and climbing ladders.
A typical day is very productive, even when it is slow there is still something to do (stock,fold clothes,clean, etc).
The most enjoyable part of the job is working with great people, selling popular products and great management.

Champs was a great experience for me, I learned many skills which I can apply to my every day life, these skills have helped me grow as a person and as a manager. The company cut out commission about a year ago, it cuts your pay at an insane rate. It has taken away from providing the high quality customer service we used to do. The managers are amazing and it feels more like a family.Even when I became a manager they cut the pay to hourly and it really doesn't compensate you well for all the work you do.
