I never write reviews.  But I felt compelled to write one after my experience working for this facility, for anyone considering employment.  I am a fair, non-judgmental person, and definitely not "disgruntled".  I have met many other non-disgruntled and good people, who are current or former employees, who are left shocked and hurt by management. 

If this was a year ago, I would be writing a positive review.  They were initially very easy to get along with, but soon I noticed staff looking over their shoulders constantly in fear over losing their job.  I didn't understand why, but I discovered management often asks other staff members to monitor their co-workers.  For example, management asked one co-worker to time one person coming back from break.  They were in trouble for coming back one minute late!!  Same for carrying a small snack hidden in a pocket!!  

Staff meetings, if on a day off, unpaid.  Overtime rarely approved.  You are told to document in a certain way, focusing on wording to lessen the chances of them looking bad.  
Policies are made or changed daily.
It's a shame.

What is the best part of working at the company?
What I appreciate most is the company’s focus on professional development, innovation, and teamwork. Leadership values employee input, which makes the workplace motivating and inclusive.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Sometimes the fast-paced environment can be challenging, but it also pushes me to stay organized and continuously improve my skills.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The company promotes a culture of learning and innovation. Employees are encouraged to share ideas, take initiative, and grow both personally and professionally.


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
My day usually includes planning, problem-solving, and learning something new. The work is engaging, and there’s a strong sense of teamwork throughout the day.

I never write reviews but after a friend show the ranking I felt I had to.  It seems as disgruntled or terminated staff are the only ones who post comments. It is strange that a company with such a great reputation on caring for our seniors have this type of rating with staff. I guess or hope people can read into this when searching for a job.
I have worked here for 22 years and think it's a great place to work. The pay is second to none and the management team are notfair and has a just culture.  Some people don't like the 8 hour shifts but for me with children and now teenagers it gave me the perfect balance between work and family.
Is everyday great no but most days are.  I am proud to be an employee of Chancellor Park and I am very proud of our team and what we do everyday.

I worked several shifts at Chancellor Park as a General Support Worker. Unfortunately I had to leave because of reasons due to my personal life. The little time I did work there, I enjoyed immensely. The residents are all lovely people. The staff, although incredibly busy, are kind, likeable, and patient. As a brand new employee there, I found them extremely helpful to any questions I had about my tasks. They also made me feel very appreciated while I was there.  I found the management equally as kind, patient and likeable. These people obviously love their job, and they perform to the very best of their abilities. I wish them all the best.
My only regret was having to leave, otherwise, I believe I would have enjoyed working there long term.

A typical day at work->Mistreatment. Rarely is there time for breaks due to the acuity of resident's medical conditions and poor staff to client ratios. Despite clocking in/out with your handprint, overtime never approved...instead mgmt. blames employees for poor time mgmt. 

Learned->Lots...the job itself was beautiful. Such a shame...residents deserve better.

Management/Owners->Atrocious. The worst I have ever worked for. Unprofessional. Unethical. Uneducated.

Union->A Joke. 

Hardest Part of the Job->Disrespect and Mistreatment by Mgmt/Owners.

Most Enjoyable Part of the Job->The Residents, of course.

I struggle to understand the one star reviews here. I notice current employees seem satisfied and former employees not so much, and you can bet there's a story behind each one. Is any place perfect? No. But I can't imagine working anywhere else. The nursing staff care deeply about the residents, the management team works hard to meet everyone's needs residents and staff alike. The support departments are treated like equal partners, no one is greater than or less than anyone else. If you are looking for a fast paced environment where you can make a difference in people's live this is a great place to be.

Staff are worked to the bone and treated with the upmost disrespect. Short staffed in all departments except housekeeping . Management is awful such a stressful environment not a healthy place to work. The money and staff / residents are wonderful but the management in nursing and dietary is absolutely awful !! The staff are wonderful kind and friendly but you can slowly see the stress of the building on people’s faces now. So busy you don’t get breaks or proper lunches at times. Management always slying around corners it’s just a uncomfortable place. 

This site is beyond toxic in a multitude of aspects. Untrained non medical family members of owner have liberty to directly impact resident safety and well being.  

Meetings held to instruct staff to medicate inappropriately! Appalling!

 Major staffing issues. Tremendous staff turnover. They hold a dictatorial management style where independent ideas are highly discouraged. The support staff are great and not really affected by administrative stronghold on nurses.

 Would not recommend. 

Pros
Great work environment with a wonderful team. Management is helpful and encouraging. I'm part time but receive plenty of work hours as long as I make myself available. It's a rewarding job that allows you to help others.
Cons
As everywhere not all staff are enthusiastic about their job as others and that sometimes reflects in teamwork and communication. However that is a small percentage which you figure out in a very short period who they are.


The recreation team is phenomenal in the compassion, respect, and empathy that they bring to every program and activity. The residents appreciate all efforts you bring to providing them with meaningful recreation. Management are open and accepting of new ideas that promote a better quality of life for the residents.
