What is the best part of working at the company?
Interaction with clients is the best part. The company itself is demanding, unsupportive of staff and unrealistic in demands of duties in a shift. They don’t want to pay for adequate staffing per shift so unrealistic loads of duties that should be for management and program coordinator are dumped on staff on top of all the care duties the staff have to provide to clients. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Unrealistic workload. Staff go to school to be HCA, to provide care. On top of care duties they shove loads of management and program coordinator duties at the staff. 100% of my days there , I and other staff missed 2 or more of our 3 breaks each day. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Gossiping and backstabbing on the regular 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful environment. Not supportive.

CHSBC is a very organized and collaborative environment. People are respectful, follow rules, take time to debrief and prepare to respond better in the future. I loved the quality of front-line staff working at KEH. Leadership trusts management and respects them while empowering them. 

The Operations Manager and Client Services Manager are super supportive and approachable. Managers are supportive among themselves and have a positive attitude. 

Management openly states they will support staff, however, when they let me go, they did not acknowledge the difficulty I had on the day and were not empathetic about the car issues I was having in getting to work.  Only wanting to ensure medication administration was completed within timeline requested.
Absolutely no empathy shown for their employee who had a car trouble and their earnest in getting to work on time despite issues. 

I'm currently trying to get another job elsewhere, management have been nothing but a pain to deal with, HR always has a "new policy" for the employees to sign or read, there are too many regulations and tbh they just want their employees to jump through hoops for something that can be done without too much troubles e.i. contacting HR this has to be done through the program manager some times it has taken over 3 months to get an answer or repayment back, the company used to be a good place to work; however, it appears that these days is all about the money and grid. 

I love my clients like they were my own family, will always be with them even getting layed off. I feel manager at head office doesn't share the real meaning of providing care for a individual except sees dollar signs which is sad. I am a passinate person and overly caring and if I could care for all clients living at this group home I would move them all in with me for life.

Staff always stick together as a family. Share great communication and always do more than our job requires.

good place to work they actually care if u don't have enough experience u will get it through working with the clients. They genuinely care about ur satisfaction in the job and are there to help u but sometimes it feels they don't engage with u but they will get around to it when they have time cause management is pretty compassionate 

I like this job because my manager does not breath down my neck or micro manage the employees. In this industry I have found that most supervisors and managers can be a little unprofessional but at Cheshire I have found management to be fair and wanting their employees to succeed and are available when you need to speak about issues. 

What a sad and boring organization. In a typical 8 hour day, I spent about 3 hours cooking. Then numerous "incident reports" per day over some small things. Management favours clients over staff. Clients are allowed using can get very violent and I don't think risking your life for what they pay you. 

I find Cheshire to be a wonderful place to work. There is lots of room for growth if you show interest, as well as different areas of social services to try! The social service field as a while is prone to burn out, however you can apply within to different areas which is helpful to prevent that! Greatly recommend. 

Considering I was working through the pandemic (the uncertainty of COVID prior to vaccination was unnerving at times), I think everything went fairly smoothly.  There were a few hiccups but otherwise a good place to work.  Structured and organized.  Very clear on policies. Staff and management genuinely care about the clients.
