Chicken Chef

While at this job I worked opening and closing shifts. If i worked an opening shift I had to be at work twenty minutes early to set up tables and make coffee for 8:00 am. The first part of my shift was serving breakfast until 11:00 am. The other server and I took turns serving each customer that walked in. Lunch was served from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm and I had to memorize and tell customers about our lunch specials when I served them. From 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm it was just regular menu items that were served to customers. My duties throughout the day were serving coffee, bringing food to tables, clearing dirty dishes from tables, getting customers what they needed, taking takeout orders, answering the phone, serving customers at the cash register, and keeping the restaurant presentable. During closing shifts it was only regular menu items available to customer. The same duties that were done in the opening shift were applied to closing shift. The only other things needed to be done were things on the closing list such as sweeping, vacuuming, cleaning ketchup bottles and creamers, closing the cash register, and preparing for opening the next day. If servers had spare moments through out the day we would do dishes and help the cooks do prep work.

I learned a lot about customer service working this job. I learned how to multitask several things at once and complete it all in a fast time period. I also learned a lot about how to handle customer complaints in a professional way to keep that person as a customer and make them happy.

The management was great. She made sure we all got breaks throughout the day when needed and would help us on the floor when it got really busy. Our hard work was always complimented and she was very generous with the time off we needed.

I worked with several different people in my three years of experience in this restaurant. My co-workers were all wonderful people and made the day enjoyable. There were certain challenges with co-workers , especially with the cooks when it was busy and orders were sent out wrong. But at the end of the day everything worked out great and everyone got along and worked well together.

The hardest part of the job was dealing with customer complaints. There were several occasions where I had to deal with an angry customer on my own and make the right decisions to make them happy. It was a great learning experience because dealing with complaints is a major factor in the customer service industry and I learned how to deal with it professionally, and make the customer happy in the end.

The most enjoyable part of my job was making tips. It was rewarding that all the hard work pleasing customers payed off, especially after extremely busy periods of the day.

A typical day of work includes serving tables, cleaning, doing dishes, meeting the demands of customers and serving food. 
I’ve learnt in the past year that some people can be ignorant and incredibly rude to servers, and that has made me come to appreciate restaurant workers a whole lot more. 
Great people to work with. Have no problem with Chicken Chef or the management. Everyone is very accepting. 
I’d have to say the hardest part of the job is just dealing with the occasional disgruntled customer. 
I enjoy going to work there, I don’t think I’ve ever felt unhappy with my job at Chicken Chef. Really does feel like home in a small town like Pine Falls.

Typical day at Chicken Chef can depend on what is going on in the area it can be slow or we can have a busy day, the management is great she is always there and when she's not she can always be reached, my co-workers are great some I know from school, and ordering there before i started there, Some of the hardest parts of the job is there is only two/ three people max in the kitchen so getting prep done can be hard on the busy days, and the enjoyable part of the job is to see customers that are like family walk in and see how your doing.

Cahier, Clear & Wash tables, serve coffee, serve food, fill containers , smile & welcome people, took time to give each person a friendly how was your day? 
I cooked if the kitchen was busy, washed dishes, I would do any task without asking. 

I met many wonderful people an elderly lady who had no one. She became my dear friend, many customers became a part of our big family in that restaurant, It was so enjoyable to have them come in and tell me about their day!  

Hardest part of the job was having to quit because I found a better paying job.

I never liked the restaurant industry but as a teenager that’s one of the first job opportunities drawn to you , i’ve worked at 2 other restaurants in the past and didn’t like how i was being treated, but the staff at chicken chef on the other hand make you feel like family, the owners go beyond just work, they take time to get to know and understand their employees, they’re very understanding and helpful people with heavily kind hearts, an 8 hour shift would feel like a 2 hour most times.

Busy and fun environment to work in, the owners/managers are awesome and make sure the quality of the service, food and prices are awesome. Daily specials and deals on family meals. A typical day at chicken chef was filled with friends, laughs and good team work. Definetly one of my favorite places that i have got the chance to work at.

It’s very obvious who are favorites to the bosses and managers and when you’re a new employee you are treated extremely poorly. If you do something wrong someone is sure to point it out right away, and if a favourable person does something wrong it’s your fault too. I felt awful every time I went to work and would often leave feeling worse. There was a lot of staff who felt the same and they went through a lot of workers, they’re constantly trying to hire. I would not recommend to anyone.

I wouldn't reumended any one to work at chicken chef most the food is not fresh

Lazy ppl I work with no one knows what there doin

It's bad and useless ppl 
I wouldn't let ppl work at such worce place

Slow every day  I work and hearing ppl being animals

Well my day would start of by getting everything ready for the restaurant to open. I learned how to use the cash register and how to open the store. My co-works were good people but i didn't stay there very long because i moved back to Winnipeg so i didnt get to know them, to good. There wasn't really anything hard about serving and i really enjoyed my work environment.

A typical day at work would be openning the kitchen and getting everything ready to start cooking then opening the restaurant and I would be there till closeing time and do money counts and close the restaurant also do all cleaning for floors and counters and all dishes and cook for customers. I did alot of manager stuff for the owner.
