Chicopee Tube Park

My experience coming into the Tube park is about as positive of an experience you can get when it comes to low skill work for a young man.

The flaws of the workplace really manifested to me returning for more seasons, often with outside management and poor leadership giving two blind eyes to slacking individuals and putting the extra weight on others unfairly, creating a needlessly negative work environment in an otherwise positive one.

The positives for me outweigh my personal vices with the cons. Working is simple and yet often varied making many days fun as the customers came from all ages and places, making every day different. You get plenty of opportunity for building public speaking and customer support ability when announcing rules and helping with issues on the hill, as well as dynamic problem solving for the busier days.

Be prepared for the cold and always take those warm day shifts when you can.

A typical day at work would include; Harnessing individuals and informing them on safety precautions, hooking the participants up and giving necessary instructions. I leaned how to effectively deal with people and the responsibilities that come along with a job that dealt with peoples lives at stake. The management at Chicopee Tube Park was exceptional. They are very understanding, yet still enforce authority but in a fun enjoyable workplace. The hardest part of my job was having to work in all weather conditions. This was over come by dressing weather appropriate though. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to work outside all day, and interacting with people in a fun, active environment.

Working at Chicopee Tube Park was not an essential for experience but it was a great fun way of learning to work with and assist customers. Everyone I worked with (mostly teens) were great people, always knowing how to make the job fun without straying from being professional. The management was kind and easy going, very easy to get along with. There was very rarely any problems within management. The hardest part of the job was working in the harsh weather but with the supplies of coats and other materials they give you help on the coldest of nights.It was my first real job and it taught me the real ropes of working with management, workers, and customers.

-Good safety policies and enforcement.
-Always doing something new and working different positions.
-Dealing directly with customers and requires good customer service skills.
-Fun work environment.
-At the end of the day, must help indoor staff with cleaning the building.

I started off as an attendant an minimum wage, and after three years, became the manager.  A very interesting position, and enjoyed working with most fellow workers, although some management had some very unique beliefs, I am happy to offer someone else the position and experience.

Chicopee tub park is an excellent first job for a teenage kid looking for some experience with the public.   Opportunities for outdoor labour skills, food service skills and cash handling skills can be gained working at Chicopee.

My time at Chicopee Tube Park I was warmly welcomed and was very encouraged to do things on my own without the need of my supervisor say and had really nice colleagues.

Management and staff were great to work with. Got to work with the public helping families have fun. The shifts were sometimes inconvenient but management was willing to work with around my schedule. Only con was having to work in all weather conditions. 

I pushed people down the hill in the winter and also during the winter I work on the Eru bungy, low ropes, zip line and summer tubes as well and I also directed customers where they needed to go.

i seriously recommend this job to anyone! my favourite place i have ever worked! the environment is lovely and the people are very positive no matter what
