What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
High volume of work, lack of qualified applicants for job openings and turnover from employees that receive the job experience but take their knowledge to private sector for more money. Hourly paid employees are not paid a competitive wage 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It takes a little time to settle in, but then it feels like family. You always receive what you give when it comes to work environments 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Be mature and do your work the rewards and recognition is worth it. Advancement is available if you prove you deserve it

-  Being well prepared for the day ahead of time.
-  Start ones day before the assigned opening bell.
-  Present a safe and secure environment  for learning
-  Learned :  Learning never stops and it comes from all levels
-  Management is key.  Be well prepared, use all types of learning aids which will allow for maximum learning and achievement by all
- Co-workers have a lot of knowledge which must be shared and used for everyone's benefit.  
- Hardest part of job is to find a way to include everyone with all their various needs and abilities. 
- Most enjoyable is to see the light bulbs in the student mind turn on and they see and can reach their maximum potential.

Salary is not too bad, watch out for the main bully... a lot of the purchasing in different departments in made by credit cards so the main players can collect the points for themselves. With the construction and some other tenders the specifications are not really posted online, this makes it easier to make awards and  to call favourite friendly suppliers that the manager likes the best as they are generous with the favours. 
Busy place, controlling boss... not really recommended unless you like to be talked down to. Hours are good. Decent benefits. 

This school board covers a large geographic area so inherent in that are many concerns to overcome. The management has always done its best to provide equal distribution of resources to all areas.

I was principal of 4 elementary schools and one junior high school. We had challenges each and every day. I learned a lot about education and the adaptations needed to be made to individual student' s programs to ensure them success.

I enjoyed my 34 years of service.

I worked 8-hour work days, trying to learn something each day in the school environments where I worked; no co-workers in the last school but in the first it was better for interacting with my fellow workers; keeping the floors constantly clean due to constant activity by children and staff was the most difficult part of the day, however, the most enjoyable part was finishing up after a productive day!

Everything,  I have the best team to work with.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
That we don’t have enough hours 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Amazing with all the different cultures we all get along well with everyone.  Everyone is very professional 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very well.  We work well as a team

Working with youth is the only rewarding thing about this job.   Co-workers are generally great.  Being home off when your child is off school is a huge benefit (breaks, holidays etc.) which is what keeps employees.  Structure is very top heavy and smothering.  Support staff feel under-appreciated, under-paid and micro-managed.  Not a very healthy working environment.

Dont expect to know what job you will be doing each day. I liked it that way. In this oposition I could be laying tiles, building a step, painting a classroom or fixing a cafeteria stove burner. 


My work day consist of mainly repetitive type of work. Being a government operated establishment there is too much politics involved in doing any job and also the wages are controlled by the government so we aren’t paid even the going rate in the area. 

I would say the hardest part of my job but also the happiest is every June you have students moving on to that new stage of their life because they have graduated. It is sad to see them go but rewarding as well.
