Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre

It was enjoyable and grateful when working at this agency. During the first half year, I prepare food, activities, homework group and special event for our after-school program - The Nook program. I have learned a lot of strategy when working with individual that requires patience, understanding, communication and interaction. Through everyday interaction with children, we build bonds in each other and slowly become friends. It's always good to have a friend listen and play with and that helps children learn and grow up. Discipline is always difficult but we get through it by appropriately communicate and take appreciation to one another. The program is well-managed. Co-workers are always be there on time, supervisor would assign different roles to employees and placement students for every day task. Under the supervision, all co-workers are very well mannered, decent and friendly. The hardest part of work is that during Halloween season, we were short of people and had to multitask between sales and school teacher. I enjoyed working with children and watch them grow.

The company has a professional and friendly environment.  It allows employees to grow professionally through hands on  experience sand trainings and workshops. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing that I know as far as my experience is concern. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is a safe space where one can express themselves as an individual while working with a team. Work culture is diverse and everyone is provided an opportunity to show case their ability.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and chill. If you come to work with the right attitude, your day will start happy and you go home with a smile!

Staff are very supportive and offer a lot of guidance. learning opportunities are always presented every day.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Staffing turnover rates and having to train new employees

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Amazing, supportive, also overly strict at times

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Easygoing, productive, make your own schedule and try to assist as many clients as possible

•	Interact with the clients on a daily basis and make them feel comfortable
•	To assist and support the staff in ensuring the smooth running of the hostel program.
•	Receive emergency housing calls from the public and central intake
•	Contribute appropriately to the care and safety of service users of Christie Ossington 
•	Maintaining a record of the events that take place during the shift.
•	Report to Support staff any untoward incidents: falls, accidents, complaints

What is the best part of working at the company?
Everyone trouble shoot together , teamwork is superb, clients are paramount to them, They empathize with clients.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing is stressful , literally everything is alright 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Good day always, always looking forward to the next day task

CONC has been the best place to work with the best management. I really loved the workplace culture and I have learned a lot during my work time with CONC. They treat the clients with so much respect and everyone is very serious and sincere towards their jobs. 

Christie Ossington is an amazing place to work as the staff there are very friendly and welcoming. I have found all upper management to be very transparent and approachable and I greatly valued this. The only downside to this position is the pay compared with other shelter positions. 

- Woking with people from all walks of the community from the elderly to the homeless .
-Everyday at work was different and exciting 
- i learned not to assume you know everyones story and to do your job best was to get to know the clients and identify their specific needs.

The mangers ate supportive and carrying. The monthly supervision meetings help me keep track of my performance. They ask for my opinion and take it into consideration if is feasible. 

Fun place with great management team. The kids are amazing and outspoken, great place for personal growth and development. One of my most enjoyable place to work. Working with my colleagues I learn a lot of value able lesson in being patient.
