A typical day at work included waking up at 6AM to get my stack of newspapers delivered to my house, and then set off to deliver them to the subscribers before 8AM, and then collected subscription payments weekly and was paid bi-weekly.

I learned how to deal with different and diverse clientele with no issues.

The management was good, I checked in with management approximately once a week and had no issues.

Apart from inclement weather, the workplace culture was average.

The hardest part of the job was collecting subscription fees from customers who weren't home.

The most enjoyable part of the job was the opportunity to get some exercise and fresh air while delivering the newspapers.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Though pay wasn't the greatest, I still enjoyed walking around in the mornings delivering the papers.

Two week payments of $72, didn't help much with bill payments

Decent work environment, never been in the actual building before.

I applied for and got a flyer route recently with the journal. The interview process was super easy. They promised me I'd get it. Then when I didn't, they blamed me and now won't even talk to me. I did get mad, but to be fair when even the local paper is screwing you out of a job... we have our breaking points. They are not worth your time, and they pay worse than before COVID. I also know people who have worked there, they tell me it's super back breaking work and they barely take your humanity seriously. Overall 1/10 

Doing a lot of tasks, time go by fast. You learn in how to resolve problems with customer  Management are polite with their coworkers and respectful. You work as a team to accomplish all the tasks and dealing with customers. Doing your tasks at the same time answering phone and serving customers at the counter can be difficult sometimes.
The most enjoyable part of the job is satisfying your customers.

i was expected to roll up 100 news paper things and pack them each into there tiny plastic bags which left my hands all ink stained (this took me like an hour). Then i was to deliver these to 100 different houses which took me like 3 hours. doing it in the winter is just not possible. then i got payed like 50 bucks biweelly or smt. it was just not worth it.

Good place to work, the established workflow allows for timely completion of tasks. Low stress. Quality co-workers and managers. 
Hardest part of the job: to maintain an adequately cleaned press.
Working with friendly personalities is the most enjoyable part of the job.

Started in telephone sales, circulation department part time (afternoon), took on second additional part time position in the back bundling late evenings.  Was accepted for advancement in Circulation Department recruiting newspaper delivery personnel.    No difficulties, very enjoyable place to work.

I was given helpful tips and was told how everything works with great detail when I was accepted. 
The Direct Manager is always there to answer any questions you had about the job.
Sometimes the carriers/drivers get would receive tickets to games as a thank you for all the hard work.

A typical day delivering papers includes waking up around 6:00 am to deliver the paper. I learned discipline and work ethic because the paper had to be delivered early every morning. The hardest part of the job was waking up early, and the best part was getting good work habits.

Honestly chronicle journal is a good job to start with if you are younger than 16. It teaches you communication skills. It does not pay very much but it is worth it when you are young.
