Only apply if you're a young high school student with no job experience. Other than that, those that are older shouldn't even think of applying. The work environment is horrible. The staff are very immature and unfair. You never truly know when you're going to finish your shift. (Youre supposed to finish at 10pm at times but most of the times finish at 11, 12 or 2 am) The rules are pretty outdated and nonsensical. For everything that you have to put up with, there's no advantages whatsoever except for watching free movies (family and friends not included). If you're young and looking for a first job, they will hire you because they see teenagers as people that can easily be manipulated.

Every shift we would have a meeting to distribute the sections . the workload would vary from very doable and simple to a lot more than what we were payed. enjoyed the staff but the management was quite disorganized in communication. The *no wearing earrings rule* was quite abnormal because as an usher who does not deal with food  just ripping tickets, i don't understand why im forced to put big nude color band-aids over my ears because it is more formal and less distracting then my earrings . In my opinion the rulebook and salary need a huge update.

It was a typical student job, however I did find the work fun as I got to speak with many clients making sure they were happy with everything. The typical day at work was cleaning and helping out clients.

I learned that working with a team is very vital in any work, that is why it is very important to always be a team player! 

The hardest part of the job was probably always making sure everyone was happy, however I always did try my best to do this.

The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing everyone work as a team and getting everything done.

The allure of the cinema industry is not quite the industry itself but usually the other employees. From what I’ve learned being in the industry close to 3 years and speaking in earnest to others that have been in the industry for 10+ years. The one thing people will usually say is the reason they stay is because they enjoy their coworkers. The job is dirty, fast paced, and offers no salary adjustment until you’ve advanced positions at least twice.

You die of boredom if there are no customers. The staff is constantly cleaning and are obliged to wear skirts. The men that were hired only managed security and ticketing. I was not content to be there. The breaks are divided into 2 groups in the second or third hours of the beginning of the shift which led to major fatigue during the shift. You work minimum wage and split tips between 12 members.

To be honest,I really like working at the movie theater. So far it is the best I have had so far. I enjoy working with my co-workers and the mangers because everyone is of the same age. It is fun working with everyone because we are all comfortable with each other. I am able to communicate them with ease and also to confront an issue or to seek help if the situation presents itself.

they have ridiculous little rules and get on your back for no reason if the manager is in a bad mood. co-workers can be lazy and dont take it well when you call them out on it. Cleaning at the end of the shift is painful especially when we're only 3 girls since we're understaffed. if you work with people you get along with on your shift it can be very fun.

Work days go by in waves. One hour of doing nothing and cleaning the kitchen, to other their multiple lines of 20 people trying to go watch a movie and get their food. The equipment is old and needs the be upgraded.

Also, some manger takes their job to seriously and don't want the employees to talk to each other when there is nothing to do in the movie theatre. 


Terrible management, managers are biased because they are young and think they know everything. Workplace culture is based on high-schoolers therefore, it lacks maturity and common sense. Only the person who works at Guzzo can watch a movie for free, otherwise your friends has to pay for themselves, their food, etc.

Super easy first job for high school/college students, not great for long term. Honestly, it's an embarrassment to work for a company that doesn't seem to care about their employees, nor does anything to improve the state of their extremely run-down theatres.
