The newsroom is Cision's main source of revenue and they are the least paid department. Employees are forced to compete with each other based on arbitrary KPI values decided by executives who have never worked in the newsroom, having no concept of the value of each task.

Specialists are graded on their quantity of work and never the quality - this has lead to the most inefficient workflow of any company I've ever worked for. This means specialists will prioritize what can be done fast, and ignore time consuming work. This then leaves many specialists working on time consuming, complex jobs, only to be told they aren't accomplishing enough based on KPIs. 

Cision has a track record of making decisions without consulting the individuals it affects, mostly following corporate trends and never considering what would be best for their company and employees. Cision management and executives consistently ignore valid feedback from their teams, leading to an abysmal turnover rate - again, in the most profitable department in the entire company. 

Cision conducted a survey about remote work. Majority of respondents wanted to maintain remote work. They called us back to the office two weeks later. Five people quit in the first month back. Cision does not care for what their employees think. 

Cision would be an amazing place to work if it ever invested back into itself, and it's employees.

I got hired as a Client Content Specialist, but the unbelievable micromanagement of the managers within that department pushed me to quit after two weeks of training. The responsibilities of the role are robotic, purely technical and extremely unpleasant, and the managers in the department have very unrealistic expectations with regards to the workflow and work volume.

Furthermore, there is a huge discrepancy with regards to what you are told in training in terms of speed and how many press releases you’re required to be able to work on on a daily basis after training. You’re given the impression it’s a very relaxed work environment, whereas it’s nothing but a monotonous, purely technical and robotic position that gives you no room to use your creativity. I would encourage future applicants to avoid the Client Content section especially in Montreal as much as possible.

My responsibilities at Cision Canada were changing according to specific requirements arising from business operations. Beside of processing a high volume of numerical data entry I had been also performing general office duties, like documents indexing and filing, answering phone calls, sorting and distributing mail, I have also supported the business through specific tasks arising from constantly changing business environment.  
The hardest part of this job was customer service.
Enjoyable part was working as a team.

In training, they take time to explain the procedure to you, and do not get THAT upset when you try it and get something wrong.

I learned to enhance my typing speed and my analytical skills
Management is good; seems to me though they care more about your performance than your well-being

Unfortunately, during my time at this company I experienced an uncomfortable working environment. Finance Department Management mistreated and discriminated staff. Turnover is high.  The work is easy, however made complicated by managers who are in roles they are not qualified for.

It was pleasant to work there , sometimes a bit stressful but after all I really enjoyed working there. Too bad that in the end my position was outsourced to our overseas associate

While Cision remains one of the best in the industry, and has great name-recognition with clients and targets, the churn levels have been astronomical and created a really challenging environment. Comp packages are constantly changing and unclear.
