The job we have is purely sales and we don't work commission based just solely on achieving targets but the company sets unrealistic goals and no pay raises at all. My colleague has been working there for almost one year now and she had to beg for her $1 raise which is ridiculous. The company can clearly afford the raise they just deprive us of that. Instead they bribe us with goodies like hoodies and once a month free lunches which I'm not complaining is a nice perk but at the end of the day that is not going to pay my bills. 


All of my colleagues were great, supportive, intelligent people and management was always on our side, but we were paid minimum wage as if we were working a regular retail job. We were constantly short staffed and doing the work of 2-3 people, often doing the work of a licensed optician AND a consultant with a sales target to hit. Sometimes it was so busy that we weren't able to take our breaks. The systems are clunky and poorly designed, so every step of fulfilling a request is extremely time consuming, like finalizing or changing an order, redoing a job, processing a return, etc. 

The culture is good, the mission is nice, and I learned a lot on the job, but ultimately you are overworked for very little pay.

Clearly has a great job culture that makes you feel at home. 
It has been one of my greatest platforms to learn and advance in my career. Most of the peers are very friendly which help a lot for an easy integration. Cons is that this company is constantly changing which causes stress in the organization. I've seen a lot of people come and go because of that. They pay is usually under the average. The company on its way to become lean and efficient but many current processes are old, time consuming that keep you away from focusing on bigger projects and add value. I'm confident this company will have very efficient processes in a couple of years from now.

Lot of talented caring people, flexible managers, fair benefits and supportive atmosphere. A lot of collaboration across departments. Good internal communication. Leadership directly addressed concerns & the mission of better vision for all was carried through in volunteering & actual day to day work. But following merger of parent corps, Clearly became a satellite of a huge faceless bureaucracy.  Many at former head office laid off - end of an era.  Doubtless still people invested in vision, but apparently working with a lot of broken tools & slow to improve. 

You have to work hard and play hard here. There are lots of opportunities to learn and exceed work expectations. There are also different kinds of team-building that makes it better to work here and learn about your team. 

The only sad thing about Clearly is the culture, you have a lot of different backgrounds but there is a clear disconnect of the production front and the headquarters in terms of communication.

There have been a lot of changes and makes it hard place to ensure job security, not unless you are versatile. So learn what you can and work hard.

worked here for a year. gave my everything doing OT every week and putting in extra flexible hours to be recognized. apparently, that's not how the management works here. don't expect to be appreciated and find a career here because you'll never know the newbies might be getting better benefits than you. 

company will make you overwork for the bare minimum while the upper management reaps the benefits. all I would say is you don't get the value you put in.

Amazing upper management – highly intelligent and supportive people, they treat employees with great respect. No micromanaging. They trust our judgment, skills and expertise and encourage us to make our own decisions.

Collaborative and fun work environment. All departments support each other, feels like a big friendly family. Very nice colleagues.

A lot of opportunities to learn and grow, excellent onboarding training.
Great perks and benefits.
The mission to eliminate poor vision is awesome!

When you first start everyone is so nice.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You really get over worked and under paid at this place.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work more , do more and make the management look good to head office.  They get bonus and raises while you get told  thanks.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Horrible, you are so stirreced out all day.

Horrible experience. It felt like the person training me was over it before I even started; very short and kind of rude. Ridiculous inventory processes, so much unnecessary work. 

One day I saw the other inventory assistant go through about 500 boxes of frames to check if they were the same color and had the same number on them. each box had 10 to 20 pairs, imagine doing that for 12 hours. NOPE!

You dont even report to the Inventory Manager, they were to busy to barely even speak to you; so stupid. 

Clearly has to be one of my favorite places I've worked at. The team is great, friendly, collaborative and best of all, FUN! I've worked in very dry professional environments, and don't get me wrong, Clearly is very professional, but they also know how to make work enjoyable and best of all, help you feel connected to the customers and Mission.
