Cleo Retail Store

The store is nice, although its very slow-paced as Cleo attracts a small demographic of women. A shift manager (which is just a key holder), makes pennies over minimum wage and works on average 13 hrs. per week. I was told it would be 20 - 24 hours/week, but apparently that is what they tell everybody. They do not offer competive wages at all! Even the (non-salaried) manahets are just sluvhtly ivet minimum wage...and they have a ridiculous amount of work to do! It is a great place to work if you're retired and looking for a side job. You cannot live on the money you make at Cleo...and would need a couple otjer jobs to make ends meet.managers

I don’t know about other branches. But the one I was working in is AMAZING my Manager was great. She is always teaching and coaching.
And she’s so responsible and understanding. 
The team was great.  I have learned a lot about customer service specially for alder ladies it was hard at the beginning but then you get used ti it and how to deal with them. 
Probably the few things that I didn’t like about working there is the dressing code and not much hours for a part time. Everything else is so usually and expected. 

typical day at work : is walking up and down assisting customers.
what is learned: is that customers are always right and have to listen to their opinion.
management: i always does multitasking up ( selling, doing the paper work, preparing time sheet, data entry etc)
co-ordinate:  friendly with my co-workers and work at team by helping each other
Hardest part of the Job: sometime you don't feeling like talking 
Enjoyable part: meeting our daily goal and also when customers are satisfied

A typical day ar Cleo is getting to know the customers and finding them suitable outfits. It's usually quiet and relaxing. 
I learned a great deal about clothing materials.
Management is lazy. They are reluctant to do any sort of work. They expect minimum wage associates to put in more work than the management itself. Complaints and guilt trips workers for being sick. 
The hardest part of job is dealing with an incompetent manager. 
The most enjoyable part is getting to know the regular clients. 

Nice coworkers but too much stress with sales goals. Management so concerned with signing customers up for Cleo connection cards and SMS -- they interrupt sales associates while they are making a sale and explaining the rewards program.  Unfair targets for Cleo Connection/ SMS/ and total sales.  Was fun at first but not anymore.

Mall hours means being away from family over Christmas period - which is an important family season! Xmas day off then an extra early start Boxing Day. 😢Not much flexibility for full timers, but that might’ve been due to being a smaller branch with fewer staff. 

the team at Cleo are very kind and welcoming, we work hard as a team and individually to achieve sales and conversion goals and we enjoy helping all indivuals with their shopping needs.

The Management was great. The work was okay. The Sales Manager was NOT okay.  The customers often stole things because the part of town it was located in was poor.  East to commute to work on transit. Flexible hours.  Employee discount was fair. It was just a bad place to work at because of location and customers often stole

Seasoned workers with seniority view part-time employees as competition. Rude and unhelpful when assistance is requested. Childish politics dominate the sales floor despite the fact that most of these women are grown and should be more mature.

it was fun but also stressful, management was not perfect 

the people you work with are not friendly and not professional  

the culture of the work was ok, it was only girls working no males at all
