The buddy system in management is destroying the company.   They have taken multiple jobs from production to create management positions for friends.  Constantly adding in more responsibility to workers with a "you're lucky to have this job" attitude. Workers are under surveillance and micro managed.   One of the top managers watches the cameras from home.  Work environment is toxic.  Lots of finger pointing and passing the blame.   Equipment is falling apart and gets minimal attention.  Pay is good but falling behind.  Non union but still has the same seniority type program for getting other training/job opportunities.  Consistent work is best part but gets overwhelming with 12hr shift work scheduling.   

The people who work and manage Coastland provide the opportunity for everyone to succeed at work and life in general.  Providing financial stability and long-term viability with management.  Ownership reinvests in the people and community.  The workplace demands accountability which, in today's times, may be overwhelming for some people.

Without a doubt the worst place i have ever worked at. Backstabbing co workers, "be lucky you have a job" management mentality. Manager with a god complex, no support, production foremen who ratted out the smallest of things..a definite pecking order...was glad it only lasted 3 months...and substandard wages for all this joy...this place needs a union in THE worst way.

Still the same "you are lucky to have this job " pushed by management.  Saftey is number one on paper but they expect you to cut corners to save time. If you get hurt well then its your own fault.  Pay is getting better but they dont like dealing with any problems with the work area they fix thing when they have to not when needed.

Coastland ownership group is constantly reinvesting in the operations.  Constant projects keep things interesting and create a lot of available overtime.  4on/4off shifts are great.  There is a young management team that is pretty fair and receptive. Great group of family oriented employees that work well together.

a typical day starts off with a safety meeting ensuring the crew is aware of production expectations and any changes within the mill and safety precautions teamwork is key to a great day at work and the hardest part of the job is physical labour at first the most enjoyable part of the job is the humour and laughter.

Non union job, with a "lucky to have this job" atmosphere pushed on you by management. It had great benefits and pay but the overall management is terrible. You are lucky if you have a good shift (around 14 people) that you get along with it makes the work days a lot better.

After 8 months I was still not being included,
Everybody was ur boss ,
No where to have a break,
No change room
No heating in workshop 
No water in workshop 
Only toilet was a porta potty 
No computer or internet 
It’s basically a shed that gets the title of workshop 

Whole Team & Upper Management Are Amazing, Great Work Environment, As Well As OT & Pay Are Better Than Any Other Company. Company has alot of Growth Opportunities, Such As Apprenticeships As Well As If You Are A Hardworker. You will be recognized & compensated very well.
