I worked nightshift from 12:00 to 8:00 am. october 2015-june 2016 Very unorganized warehouse..... no signage. That was my biggest problem. Very high paced and stressful job done in -1 and -40 degrees. You start out by stacking chicken bins and cleaning. Then the trucks come in and you unload them with a forklift or standing jack. After everything is in the warehouse you build orders and put them in their respective place. at 6Am the truckers come in and you load their 50 foot trailers on pallets.
Honestly i was fired, but i still respect the guys there. The night manager bob, is a salty old school guy. But he has a WEALTH of knowledge about warehousing. Liston too this guy because he wouldn't ask you to do anything he hasnt done with his 30 years of experience. When i started i didnt like the guy, but when i left he honestly made me a better man and a better worker.
The only thing i should warn people about is that it is a high paced stressful job done on graveyard hours. There is NO mistakes, you mess an order up or dont ship something it costs the company money and time.
If you are a sorta weak person who cant handle stress and getting it right do not apply here. I fit what i just typed but i lasted 8 month's can you?
Also, the truckers are all really cool guys. Gus is a guy you want to learn from because he is a great teacher.
This job takes a mature experienced warehousing guy. There is no room for mistakes, bob is a awesome boss but he is TOUGH. Just work really hard and DONT be afraid to ask him questions.

My experience working for ColdStar was deeply distressing and had a significant negative impact on my well-being. Throughout my employment, mandatory overtime was frequent and often presented as non-negotiable, leaving little regard for employees’ personal time, family responsibilities, or work-life balance.

Equally concerning was the lack of meaningful support from management. Repeated attempts to raise legitimate workplace concerns were met with indifference, and in some cases the response from HR not only failed to resolve the issues but gave me additional stress and work. This created an environment where employees felt unheard, unsupported, and apprehensive about speaking up.

Overall, the workplace culture felt unsustainable and harmful, and the ongoing lack of care for employee well-being ultimately made the environment extremely difficult to continue in. HR and management are too friendly with each other and they are friends therefore nothing will ever change unless management does.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this job right off the bat, the night shift crew is great, and I don’t have to deal with too much BS. It’s mostly pin to pin on the night shift, but there’s the odd drop here and there you might have to do.
There’s a few people that are a pain to work with, but usually it’s pretty easy going.
All drivers received a wage increase recently, and it’s really solid pay for how simple the job is.

Day shift is an entirely different animal from what I understand, so don’t take this as a review of working in that position.

Expect to drive standard trucks, as that’s what most of the fleet is made up of. 12 speed CNG powered macs

I would say if you are looking for a fun and fast paced job this one is for you. The staff are very welcoming and if you have any issues or concerns bring them up and they will be answered within the day. I have been with the company for a little over a month now,  the work culture is laid back and it is easy to get along with everyone if you do your job an don’t not mind the constructive criticism then this is the place for you. 



They are really good at making new employees feel welcome.  In the 6 months since starting here, they have had many staff bbq, family bbq, golf and other events to get people together.  After the last 2 years with Covid, it is nice to see a company wanting to spend time with their staff and build a team. The days are long and we work hard, but you leave work feeling appreciated. Company seems to care about the environment, we bought an electric truck in the summer.

Adjusted well to the nightshift but found safety at work low due to lack of training on forklifts and conditions in which you are forced to drive them around in. Overall negative politics between head staff and workers was disappointing to watch. Great pay with OT perks, but doesn't make up for their inability to support people making mistakes, instead of ridiculing them. Zero respect between the crew members with no integrity within the team makes for a bad experience. 

Really amazing place to work. Everyone is so kind and open to communication. The organization is local and it shows how much they care about making a positive impact. The benefits are more than enough - they offer a health spending account so you’re able to cater to your own needs. Put their employees first and help them further their careers within. They also are very flexible with appointments, personal days, and other commitments.

- management is a joke and non existent.
- they want experience “professional” class 1drivers but the pay is equivalent to a 1st year green driver. no raises
- trucks are poorly maintained.
- you are force to be in a situation where safety is at risk and reprimanded if you challenge management.
- skip this company, there are better companies that pays over $30 with better benefits that actually treats you with respect.

You might want to avoid this place at all cost.. Management is incredibly unbearable nasty to say the least.. most of the staff are a blast to work with but again management in Victoria are horrible.. no room at all for advancing job is blah but one thing is for sure benefits are incredible but you can get those anywhere.. they are definitely better folk to work for..
