It's definitely difficult to complete the transaction/ sales when mall is death or on the slow hours, which means you'll have to carry on the transaction you don't do. Associated will definitely will still transaction from the newest associates. When working visual you still have to make yourself accountable for the sales you don't do. Once you break the 3 or 4 months (sometimes more) you may stop crying on the shower because you don't want to go to work, people will be les hostile and accept you or there is someone else new to bug, and you will probably do the same to the new. Sadly it's I cycle I when  through and saw many others do too. Store manager and asm were great. Some associates too. Just try to be polite always and keep a good attitude. Region manager very pushy always asking what new close you got that week, and pushing associates to by new close. I  general most of the people get around 12hous per week. You could be Sent  home on a slow day too after 3 hours in the stores I worked. If you're full-time them you don't have to worry about it although only  manager, assistance managers and shifts  managers are full-time.  Most important you need to be fully available so that they can give you  those 12 hours if you want to be hire.

Coworkers and wonderful customers, plus schedule consideration, were the only things that made this job tolerable. Manager and assistant manager are rude, condescending, and very poor communicators. If I asked a question about how to do a certain aspect of my job, I was given huffy responses along with a facial expression that conveyed a message of "you are an idiot for having to ask that."

They didn't communicate with each other about the level of training I had received and somehow determined that I knew how to do everything, and then when I sought help because I, in fact, had not been sufficiently trained, I got the huffy responses, pointed looks, or sometimes, I didn't even get an answer at all, just a passive aggressive remark before they walked away.

Obviously, this left me feeling uncomfortable having to ask them for assistance so I turned to coworkers as much as possible. Then I would be told that my coworkers don't actually know what they're talking about and so don't ask them. 

This management team was a nightmare to work under, with only a few small moments where they were decent in their interactions. My anxiety went through the roof every time I worked with them.

I liked the job but we have a Ricki and Cleo combo store and the worst thing about it is there's always about 5 or more sales on on each side... So rickis would have let's say take an extra percent of clearance, 40 off on tops and blouses and sweaters and then Cleo would have 40 off on pants, 30 off on ponchos and sweaters, jackets would be an extra percent off... Jewelry on both sides had different sales... Etc. Sometimes you'd walk into your shift and they would have a paper filled with sales stuff that was on for the day which can get overhwelming for the retail worker and the customer. There were many times the customers complained that when you greet them and tell them what sakes were on it took ya 10 minutes. Then the Cleo stuff had to be rung in separate from the Ricki stuff becsuse they were different sales and on-top of all that ... You had to ask if they wanted to donate here and there if there was a promotion going on for let's say breast cancer... And then that was another code you had to ring in. It was very hard to keep track of sales.

Make sure you are straight out of high school when you apply to this job. Interview went well and was asked to do a second, however, I was told that I would receive a call after a day or two and did not. On the second day I decided to call and was informed that due to my nature of having experience in different professions, that I was over qualified to obtain this position. This was very unprofessional in my opinion, as after covid it is very hard to find employment and was told I would have been the perfect fit but that sales was "beneath me". In my opinion that is not an employers call to make but I will be shopping elsewhere going forward and for those looking at working here, the people are great, however, the decision making isn't exactly on par.

No support from management. Sell, sell, sell but make sure you get everything else done, too. No excuses, just get the work done. Stressful, tense workplace. Do not recommend working here at all. The co-workers were great, but management and head office expectations unrealistic. The cash register system is outdated, difficult to use, and constantly breaking down. No organization or formal polices and procedure manuals to follow. You are left to figure things out on your own and the get in trouble for not doing what you are supposed to do; but how can you when you haven't been taught what you are supposed to do and how you are supposed to do it? Most disorganized and outdated company that I have worked for. Run from this company as fast as you can.

What is the best part of working at the company?
One of the worst companies I have ever work for.  They have no appreciation for their staff, or any concern for their health and safety. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not knowing whether you will have a job the next day. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Unsafe and stressful. No concern for staff or customers. All about pushing products. The lack of direction. Better yet changing things every other week. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Not knowing when your day will be over. Constant criticism. Stress not a moment to distress.

I honestly love Bootlegger and Ricki's and I have been working for them for a long time. There is no chance for me to move into better earnings or position at this company because of rules and regulations. For the amount of time I have been there my pay is not enough. The reason I have stayed though is because I work with amazing people that make my day everyday when I go in. The customers are great as well and make the day fly by. I wish I could stay with this company but I cannot because of the pay and truly hope that I get the job with Telus.

It's retail, the hrs are bad, 2 days off in a row are a luxury. Work when sick. Work holidays & wknds. This company is sell, sell, sell...and sell THEIR WAY OR THE HIGHWAY. They make sales brain surgery & must be pro positive all the time, it's exhausting. 50% off clothes & benefits aren't worth it. Retail sucks for the hrs & pay, this company is no different. Go into a different industry & have a life work balance with wknds & holidays off...retail should be a last resort. 

Managing this location was a struggle as the company was unhappy with senior associate wages and planned to replace several top sellers with new, inexperienced associates. This created a cycle of results that were inconsistent from quarter to quarter.
Work life balance was difficult as the average Associate age was 40+ and their parents got sick & passed away regularly. 
Stressful position with medium to low pay.

The most fun thing about working for a Rickis Bootlegger combo store is having an open closet essentially at work. They encourage trying on clothes to show for customers that come in to shop at the store. The discount package helps to subsidize that as well. A typical day features customer service which I happen to find also the most enjoyable, point of sale, and stock handling which would be the hardest part of the job.
