This company comes in off the bat telling new employees how much they care about your happiness and how there is so much opportunity for growth. Then they shove all that to the side and make sure to keep you down. Even in their orientation, they talk about how X or Y employee has moved on up from their starting position but then they dislike it when you want to dream bigger. They have their staff working with very outdated equipment. Everything is slow or hardly functional but they expect you to move super fast. They don't want to update anything. Not even their rundown buildings, although they keep promising to do so. It's clear that the company has money because they hold their orientation at their headquarters that is very modern. They do it to sell you on a dream that that is what you'll be getting. The company is quite disorganized in chain of command besides the higher ups. I didn't even know who my direct supervisor was supposed to be untill 3 weeks into the job. So many people taking on leadership roles without the recognition or pay. A HUGE thing is they lie to you about how much work they expect you to do. They don't tell you that you'll be working 6 DAYS A WEEK twice a month. They say that you'll be "working every other Saturday and get a day off on one of our less busy days". They tell this lie to several employees in different roles. 
They put pressure on you and literally tell you it will make you better at your job when you feel pressured. Instead of giving you feedback to your face on what they want you to do, they say  you're doing great then you hear from others what they're really saying about you. There is so much that's problematic about this company. I hope the good people make it out. 

This is the worst company I have ever worked with. I first started with CMI and I thought it was odd that they were so accommodating to the point it seemed strange.  The longer I stayed all the promises began to fall apart and the proverbial curtain opened. 
The operation is so disorganized and it's so inefficient I can't understand how they make any profit.  
No safety here, no direction, and it reflects so much that the company's employee turnover is so high...poor management is an understatement. 
I would recommend you run from this company. I see plenty of posts referring to rapid expansion but the way they operate it's a false bubble that will soon self correct. 

I'm sure the management at CMI will be quick to post several positive feedbacks after this post but the pattern is obvious if you read a few of the company's reviews.

This company fails you from the beginning. If you are not a self learner then good luck to you. You pretty much have to teach yourself everything or with very little training. And somehow you are expected to deliver. The hours of you are expected to put in is ridiculous. You can work 16 hours a day and it's still not enough. They are unreasonable with their goals because they are not achievable. Management gives no direction and they lack structure. Don't look for any positive feedback because you will be disappointed. Some managers have favourites, so if you are not one of them then you feel like an outsider. The politics are stupid, so unless you're a politician, then you're in the wrong place. The owners seem to want to do the right thing, but middle management is the opposite. It's a very toxic environment. Run from this place.

At first, this company makes you feel like part of the family, but over time you realize you are treated as just another number. There is no real job security.

Bonuses are offered only if you maintain a “perfect” record, but even a small mistake can result in being grounded and losing your bonus. The constant pressure to perform better creates a stressful work environment.

While there is a lot of money in the metal industry, management reaps the rewards while drivers do the hard work and face penalties for even minor errors.

This place may look appealing in the beginning, but the reality is very different once you are inside.

For those looking to be involved in the recycling industry, CMI is a wonderful place to learn and develop your skills whether that be in sales, operations or support. The CMI family strives to have a fun and productive work environmt and management is very supportive. The company continues to grow and it's exciting to be a part of what we're doing as a leader in this industry! It should also be mentioned that like most work places, your success is dependant on your attitude and work ethic. The team at CMI is passionate about people realizing and reaching their potential, and approaching your work with the right mindset yields good things!

I was very hesitant to take the job from looking at the reviews on Indeed, but I was pleasantly surprised when I started working. Everyone is friendly and treats you with respect, people are very friendly and sociable. The company does a great job looking after all its employees, lots of perks and benefits. My manager even took the time to assess my skills and adjust my roll to suit my strengths and weaknesses. It's not a drag coming into work at all. I have nothing to gain from leaving a positive review, I just wanted to let the next person that happens to read this that its genuinely a really great company to work for.

*The day at work started with smiling and greeting your colleagues and was also rushed with a lot of work for me
*I have gained a lot of time management skills, I have learnt to be detail oriented . The Accounting team was fabulous and working with them has enhanced my teamwork skills .
*Our management was far from traditional, I was able to walk up to them and discuss anything and everything
*The hardest part of the job was very tight timelines and urgent orders and payments. Also the workload at times
*The team and the people at CMI are the most incredible part of CMI !

Initial impressions were positive, but it quickly became clear that the company's actions and management didn't match their rhetoric. Despite a strong emphasis on innovation, it was often disrupted without explanation, creating a totalitarian experience. My manager micromanaged excessively, even dictating the exact wording of emails. Autonomy was minimal. During my time, I saw 10 people hired and fired within 8 weeks across various roles, indicating a severe lack of job security. I wouldn't recommend this workplace to friends or family.

There is barely over time. they start you at a lower than average industry  wage. Culture there is placebo.  If you’re a red hat people treat you less. There are yellow hats which means people that passed the probation and orange hats are usually supervisors. They start you around $19-20 and hour. They don’t pay OT unless you’re over 44 hrs. There is barely in over time.  There is too much politics involved and plenty of fake people. It’s an absolute cult working on the floor there. 

CMI has a very toxic work culture that is not at all employee-friendly. A lot of yelling, a lot of erratic decision making, a lot of stress. The company turnover is EXTREMELY high, both at corporate head office and in the yards. Many people quit right away when they realize this is not the kind of environment in which they want to work. Many others are fired without reason or notice, especially if they dare try to challenge the existing culture.

I am going to get out of here as quickly as possible!
