A typical shift consisted of:
-Setting up banquet rooms
-Accomodating visitors and guests
-Serving meals and drinks at functions
-Cleaning up and reorganizing the ballroom and servery

I learned and improved on many areas from this job. I learned how to socialize with and accommodate individuals from many different cultural and career backgrounds. I learned how to anticipate and read individuals needs, concerns and attitudes. I also learned how to put up with individuals who are rude, aggressive and intoxicated. My social skills and time management were other areas I improved on.

Management was outstanding. I cannot say enough good things about my supervisor and the other members of management. They were always polite and accomodating. My supervisor made work fun, and I learned a lot about how to interact and deal with guests from him. His confidence in me, and the additional responsibilities he gave me, helped me have faith in my decision-making abilities.

My co-workers were amazing. I loved going to work each shift because I knew how much fun it was going to be. Missing a saturday night shift was awful because then you had to wait another week to see everyone again.

Hardest part of the job was staying awake until early in the morning cleaning up after a wedding. Some shifts seemed to drag on, but the staff members always helped each other out and found ways to make the work fun.

The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to see my co-workers each shift. Everyone got along, and it was always a blast to go to work.

A typical day at work includes processing a multitude of calls, answering peoples questions, explaining to people all the highlights in the Montreal area, taking reservations over the phone and checking people in and out. I have learned lots of responsibility and organization working in a hotel. It is a fast passed environment that requires precision and focus which I have learned and mastered. I love the hospitality industry and find it is a great way to learn customer service skills. My co-workers are great, we are a super great team and we work extremely hard to ensure customer satisfaction. Hardest part of the job is that we don't get breaks. When it's busy, it's difficult to sit down and eat something because there are so many people to attend to constantly. The best part of my job is working with others and meeting people from all over the world. It's a great learning experience and working with people is something I truly enjoy.

From the highest hierarchy of management to all other employees, it's been a really fun and constructive experience working here. I find that GM is great and reasonable (past and present). I learned a lot of skills that could enhance any future opportunity, specially if I wish to pursue a career in hospitality. I worked as a front desk agent and night auditor, where the team was always there to help. the people who trained, were always there to help me grow and to get accommodated to the environment. rest assured that you are in safe hands if you struggle at the beginning, but you have to be willing to put the work in, and try to have the incentive to improve by yourself. The only part that could frustrate you about the job, is some of clientele in the pandemic, but it's out of one's control. Specially that the hotel is located Downtown. 

Zero work/life balance. Zero allowance for time off, without a lot of hassle. Union job, that caters to full-timers (5 people) and does nothing for part-timers (avg 10-15 people). Huge turn-over of employees, due to the above mentions. In short of 2 yrs, over 50 employees came and went. Some good managers, some horrible managers...and the union/collective bargain prevents the good managers from doing good for the employees that deserve it. Very competitive work environment. No guarantee of hours. The schedule does not equate to actual hours worked.

Managers at the comfort suites are very bossy amd have no respect for the staffs needs. 
You have no job security if you call in sick they will fire you therefore even if u are dying u have to come to work specially night audits since they have no extra staff to cover for you and if the managers have to cover for
You they will make sure you are fired in the same week. 
The managers gave me 3 written warnings the same week because i had an emergency and call in for work although i gave them a 1 week notice. 
No body took action not even the HR

I worked nights. The communication issues between management and night staff wasn't the best, but it worked out and they were always available in "emergency/urgent" situations. 
Good for a first hotel job. 
The issue was mainly with the guests that stayed at the hotel and lack of security during night shifts. I would be the only person working in the hotel from 11-7 and sometimes felt unsafe from some of the guests staying there. 

The housekeeping supervisor is pretty awesome but the management above her is awful. Unprofessional and discouraging. Directly after I worked housekeeping here I started the same job at another local hotel and just the cleanliness and cleaning practices are night and day. And if you try to speak up for yourself or a. Co worker you are treated like a piriah.

Comfort suites was a good place to work if you are looking for a fast paced cleaning environment. The staff are very serious about there job and don't tolerate any fooling around. fair pay and breaks for the amount of work that is required. It is required to be in good physical shape and be on top of the ball at all times.

Poor paying job that expects more out of you than most places. It does not provide a 30 minute lunch break unless you want to only get paid 7.5 hours( not full time then). Little to no acknowledgment of your hard work. The management specifically in the housekeeping department was lack thereof. 

A typical day at work Was a few days of training I met A great bunch of individuals. It was very cultural lysed over there. They’re amazing people. The job was easy supply rooms were stocked perfectly. It was all around clean. It was an amazing atmosphere, and a great time to work there.
