Commissionaire

A typical day at work entails an extreme amount of vigilance and alertness. As a security officer, I control access to the official residence of the Governor General of Canada. I work in conjunction with the RCMP to ensure proper security measures are being used at all times. 
Furthermore, we are required to proceed with a high level of customer service when it comes to writing emails, reports and daily logs. This requires organization, professionalism and courtesy. 
Dress and deportment are of extreme importance as well as discipline, organization and professionalism. 
We work 12 hour rotations which includes night shifts and weekend shifts.

I have the experience working with the federal government,  and private industry, including video monitoring systems, report writing . on-site patrol using two-way radio communications, cell phone working with access control security alarms system I had the experience working in numerous place environment to whom it may 
concern I like working as a Commissionaire as a Security guard I lorn allot of experience as a Security guard working in Security Will working as a Commissionaire I hold a renewed Ontario Security Guard licence and I  still do have a renewed  Ontario Security Guard licence and I hold a Secret clearance as well.

Professionalism, equality, respect and stress-free environment. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
None whatsoever, I have had anything remotely close to stressful situation. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very satisfactory to all employees. Very professional and friendly environment 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I come to work, do my job according to my work description, and go home feeling satisfied and appreciated.

Its 12 hr days standing on your feet outside.I have learned computer skills over looking contractors doing up pays making schedules. The hardest part of the job was trying to prove myself i was the only female for 3 years. The best part as a commissionaire was working with the public getting my supervisor courses and it made me a better and stronger person

I had the opportunity to explore many details and functions within he company.  Great management.

I had the opportunity to work as a Security Escort at Calgary International Airport.  Much later I worked at Calgary Central Library and met great people, while insuring the staf worked in a secure public setting.

A typical day at work involves doing rounds and reporting suspicious behavior/occurrence. The most you would learn in a few months is how to be patient and some basic safety rules. The hardest part of the job would be to stay focused and the most enjoyable part of the job would be to do rounds (Walking the premise)

good employer to work for,organized, fair, up front. the airport is a culture all on its own. i decided to leave and try to work in the oil sands. now regret not sticking it out with the commissionaires.

Currently searching for a position as an Engineer, Electrical Supervisor or possibly large truck driver.
Commissionaire only suitable for those retired from a government job with full benefits.

There are many things that could be done differently, seniority means nothing and favoritism is a major part of moving forward.

They are very professional Whenever having conversation with them.they work hard to find a job that is suitable for you needs.Good thing is that good rules and regulations.
