I worked at CSC for a short time but I can say the organization itself is lovely. My manager was fantastic and a great person to work for. She was caring and empathetic and knew that connectors deserve more money than what we were making. Connectors are severely underpaid and given an enormous amount of job duties. It was almost comical the amount of work involved in the role for under $20 an hour. The wage for this position should be $28 at least. The position states flexible working environments but that’s also not true. You’re working out of offices and in seniors’ homes and when you’re not run off your feet in the community you can be home to grab your documents in order to run to the next client’s home. Unless the wage was fair, I would never recommend this position to anyone. Pay people what they’re worth and you won’t have such terrible turnover. Plain and simple.

CSC does important work in the community. The lower level employees work hard and really care. Unfortunately, CSC has changed a lot in recent years. At present, it feels like an environment that does not value collaboration. I felt that opinions are not valued, and that client well being was beginning to be pushed to the side. Senior level management team members do not seem to be well trained to do what is required of them. I didn’t feel there was accountability for management. This is a recipe for a toxic culture. Without recommitment to the organization’s mission and some serious training for upper level management, I worry about the agency’s future and the future of the clients they serve. If someone is looking to work in a client facing role working in the community, I still think that this can be a good place to work. If they are looking at a more internal job in the office… I might steer clear for now. 

I have been with CSC for over a year as an Independent Contractor- home maker. I am able to pick my hours and number of clients to what suits my family’s life- being a present mom is so important to me. I feel like a valued member of the community. I provide a service to seniors that is so appreciated by my clients as well as management. I value the philosophy of helping to support seniors to remain in their owns homes as long as possible. Management is easy to reach and is supportive. They have been supportive through a couple of difficult situations with clients.  Family members appreciate the work you do for their parents. You become a member of the seniors family. It is truly a job where care and compassion goes both ways.   

As a long-time employee, I can't imagine working anywhere else. I have an excellent working relationship with my colleagues and regular opportunities to meet with my supervisor. I'm always invited to provide feedback where I know my opinion is valued. CSC is a team-oriented environment and people who work here are motivated by our overall goal of helping people live at home with independence and dignity. The best part of the job is being part of team that is always striving to do better, innovate more, and do whatever it takes to improve as many lives as we can. The rewards and opportunity to create and innovate are many, and I would highly recommend CSC as a workplace to grow. Together, we can make a positive, lasting impact in our community!

Company offers good programs that are desperately needed by the community but they never seem to compensate their workers for their efforts. Cuts to pay have continuously been made with higher and higher case load demands. They always tell you what more you need to do but workers are not compensated for it. Over all, I hope this can change- but its not a great company to work for unless its your first job out of school and you need experience. Other then that you'll leave feeling unappreciated and unpaid for your efforts. 

You don't have to work evenings or weekends (in most positions) which is nice for those who have families and children at home. Clients are usually lovely to work with.

I love the variety, the flexibility, the purpose and the people. Knowing that what you do each day makes a difference in someone's life is a great reward. Working with seniors is both rewarding and challenging, but I would not trade it. The benefits of this job far outweigh the hard moments. In my opinion CSC is a wonderful place to work.

Loved working with them. I was an independent contractor, chose my clients, chose my hours. I could have as many clients in a day as I could handle. They allowed us to decide if we could do the job they requested and if not they offered to others. Loved it! Great manager to report to and you meet some lovely people.

The company doesn't care for employees or the clients. Bad weather you work sick ypu figure it out. They have favoritism no job security just horrible stressful management but amazing clients

Great place. Working with seniors in the community. Outdoors. Easy to contact management, they are supportive and reply quickly to any questions. Great for a side job. You can work as much or as little as you wish. Lots of variery from lawn care to small repair jobs.

I learned lots of great things by working for Community Support Connections such as time management, program design and facilitate, teamwork and much more. Friendly and professional staff, It was a pleasure working with CSC!
