Compact Mould

I loved working at Compact. It had a very personal and family oriented vibe. The culture is pretty chill and relaxed. Music is played on radio with mild volume. Hours are flexible to a certain degree. Employee is eligible for RRSP after 1 year. There are no traditional health benefits but Company deposits a fixed  fair amount in your RRSP at end of year. So if you are young and don't need those visits to chiropractor or massages etc, you are getting free money.

Management allowed me to get my work done without too much pressure as long as i met the deadline. It is great place for starting your career. As you would be making complex bottles(For ex: Tide detergent, Soft Soap), It provides you an opportunity to enhance your skills as a Product designer. Sometimes that can be quite challenging for a newbie but management pace you from easy to complex projects. Colleagues were very friendly and helpful.
I'm not sure about the machine shop but as a designer, Hourly Wages were little on the low side. But that is offset with learning skills on the job and overtime.

Management offers free tickets to TFC, Raptors, Leafs games which is pretty cool. There are BBq's in summer and a Christmas dinner.

I am former employee working 30 years for compact mould.I left the company because of personal reason .Compact mould gave me the opportunity to learn all the machine in the shop floor, including CNC operator.The work place have opportunity to grove,if you have the talent and some program the company pay for you to upgrade your skill.Yes,the wage was not competition with other company ,even the president said so.I knew a few employee left company ,because of the money.At the end they came back to compact mould. Why ? they push to limit and can't handle the pressures you have to quit. Compact mould don't stand behind your back watching you do your work.You work with your own willed n your own time. I consider compact m. as a family business many family wife n husband work together to support company successful as today.you can watch the Video on You Tube Searching for.compact mould celebration 30 years anniversary .Therefore,I had very
 pleasant experiences working for compact mould the last 30 years.

Place was prison style. As in, everyone was scared of the guards (managers) and feared the warden (president of company).
coworkers were all nice people but nobody communicated for mutual progression of the company. Everyone did work their own way and created several work procedures that was not consistent.
I.e. where and what to do with completed work orders and other paper work.

As per other review, it does NOT have paid lunch. It is a unpaid 30min lunch.
There was always a sort of tension when a manager walked by instead of comfort.

No place to move up in company.
I would recommend this company ONLY as a stepping stone, to gain experience and move. Hourly wage is low and not competitive.

Great place to work with a very welcoming atmosphere. I worked as a CAD designer for 2 years and learned a lot about the plastics / blow blow-moulding / manufacturing industries. Great management and coworkers. There is always room to learn new things within the company. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Compact.

This company has a very positive atmosphere, many employees stay for 10+ years. The people are wonderful to work with.

A nice experience to learn about machine setups and programming.
good for students who need co-op or apprentices in their educational career. good work timings and facilities.

Its good place for work but depend what you working on. its basically work like factory only difference is they make things for factory.

Good place to work. Lots of friendly people. Can get a bit hectic, company needs to nail down proper engineering policies. Good place to gain a lot of experience.
