I left an amazing job that I loved to come here. I was happy at the pay bump I would get and the chance to learn all new things. In the end, my position was a butt in seat position. No matter how much I asked for things to do, training, if I could help others, I was just told to read training stuff on the website. For a year. After being there for 1 year, I was discarded with a group layoff after being told I was safe. There were no goodbyes or any communication from my supervisor or boss. I was told when my last day was, and that was it. My belongings were touched and packed up without my consent. Don't let the big paycheck fool you. 

For starting out a career in IT it’s fine but they don’t pay you anywhere NEAR industry standards for a developer. Vacation is based on NB standards and only 4 paid personal days (that just recently went up). No paid sick days so you need to use vacation days. Retirement package isn’t the greatest nor is the benefits. The only thing you benefit from is the people that work there but that is IT! 

Management isn’t the greatest either. You come out feeling like you shouldn’t have even bothered to say anything. 

CGS strives to be a fantastic employer but they don't have the internal structure to support their employees. While they trust their employees are able to do the work there isn't enough training to justify the expectations on some roles. They want to be doing the best for their employees but management's time isn't always spent in a productive manner. CGS is a large company doing great work with great people but has flaws that need to be addressed.

CGS has a lot of redeeming factors. But they are all over-shadowed by horrible management. The internal structure is fractured which leads to miscommunication, constant fire-drills and unnecessary stress. Employees are treated at face-value and nepotism is rampant. I would recommend CGS as a stepping-stone towards a better career somewhere else. Cause if you can somehow make it here, any other company you work for will feel like a breeze.

Information is not shared. A lot of back bitting and gossiping

No good culture. Unprofessional environment

Regularly of meeting with collegues and doing my assignments

The workplace and people are the top qualities of working at CGS. Management treats all employees with respect and has great benefits.

Communication is extremely important to me and I feel that my managers keep me updated on all Company information, events and training opportunities.

They have provided me with great options to received certifications in the future.

The people.  The job in the managers!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I was never stressed working there.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Diverse and business casual.  Friendly with an open door policy.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy with calls and answering emails

Management would never give women an opportunity to expand and become a team lead.
Always watched, questioned about everything that was done, nothing was every good enough. Management was extremely hard on everybody when it came to paying for statutory holidays, any overtime.
Training people for their new position was painful

It is a productive and fun place to work for, they have been very supportive and I feel appreciated from this company. I have been working for them for the last ten years and never had a problem with a manager or collegue

good training and support. on going learning and development. nice working with our partners/ re-sellers developing long term relationships to help them grow their business and sell our products and services.
