Working at Computers for School I was able to learn a lot of skills and better myself as an employee. They give you a large amount of time for studying and push you to move forward in to University or another job with the skills you've developed. They hire anyone that is willing to work hard and put time in, helping them get their foot in the door in the industry with the experience gained while working there.

They also pay for you to challenge exams for IT certifications, usually the exams are quite costly and it can be hard to do on your own if you have a job at the same time, managing your time and paying to challenge the exam.

Work Is Well Structured, You Pick Up Some Computers From A Rack Or Skid, Set Them On Your Desk, Plug In The Cables, Power Them On, Troubleshoot If Necessary, Set The PXE Environment, Boot Then Go Prepare A Set Of Keyboards Mice And Monitors For The Desktop PC's. After The Install, You Go Clean The PC's By Blowing Out The Dust And Washing The Outside. At The End Wrap The Desktop Tower And Associated Hardware.

You Learn How To Fix Computers.

Management Is Great. You Are Often On Your Own, Very Few Unpleasent Surprises.

The Workplace Culture Is Generally Bad, Some Bad Attitudes From People Hamper Your Ability To Be Productive.

It's an internship, generally aimed towards students under the age of 30. You can get CompTIA certificates paid for if you pass them. Workplace is pretty relaxed and tight-knit, and can be pretty quiet some days or a lot of people coming in to receive computers, really depends on the time of year. It is non-profit and funded by the Government of Canada, so there are limitations that come with that. There can often be downtime to study for college/university courses or tech certificates, so it is pretty great in that regard.

Management was willing to teach each and every person from the ground up on how to process assessments on new arrivals, set up specifications on each machine needed for the order, and how to speed that process along once comfort levels were met.
It's only a difficult job if you make it difficult - work at a steady pace and you'll learn a lot!

This was the worst job I have ever had. I felt terrible every day and was forced to work long hard hours in a warehouse that was UNSAFE and extremely hot in the summer. the management is a joke and doesn't take you serious when you bring up issues to them. stay far away from this company.

I enjoy the job I currently have, but I need a challenge at my job. Which is the biggest reason why I say this job is too easy for me. Otherwise, good experience.

I would recommend for anyone to apply for this place to learn about computers. If you have no knowledge or skill, this place will help with that. The environment is friendly and it's in a good location.

PEOPLE WERE GREAT TO WORK FOR BUT IT WAS MINIMUM WAGE POSITION AND IT WAS CONTRACT WORK WITH NO JOB SECURITY.I REALLY ENJOYED WORKING IN THIS FIELD AND GAINED A LOT OF KNOWLEDGE.

This was a volunteer position where you refurbished donated computers to be redistributed in schools and other not for profit organizations. I had a great time working here. I would highly recommend it. It was fun and a good place to work.

Good Experience and Lots of different things to learn, you get to work on desktop and laptop PC's as well as different things such as printers and other devices.
