Concept Group

Concept is a great company that has a very people-positive culture. They are willing to train you on things you've never done, have a great safety department and provide you the equipment you need. Many people I know there have worked for them more than 5 and in some cases more than 10 years - they are good at their job and I doubt they would stick around if the company was not good to them. You can move around between departments and get different kinds of experience. I had many great learning experiences while completing my apprenticeship with them.

In short, I sorely regret having left them for a company started by some people who departed from Concept.

Not a good company to work for. Management needs major work, highly unorganized, constantly threatening jobs, they say safety is a priority until it comes down to it, then they talk down to employees if they refuse unsafe work. Unacceptable work quality seems okay to them, they don't care as long as it gets done as fast as possible. They do not take employees concerns about safety or anything else seriously. Incidents are constantly being covered up so they don't get a poor safety rating. I would think twice about working for concept, no matter how desperate you

Cheap Cheap Cheap. never have material, no direction from management to field-so 3rd time is the charm, try to avoid paying OT if no one speaks up even on stats, management changes schedules then scowls if you have to take days off because of the changes.   expect you shuttle into sites on your own time. management says they appreciate your efforts but do not show it

Working for Concept group really broadened my electrical skills from when I worked in the commercial division and things slowed down in Calgary for the construction division so I went to work at a potash min camp new Jansen Sask. I had the opportunity to work at other camps, oil field projects and potash mine distribution.

Company lacks communication between Calgary and its other offices and work sites. Poorly managed Safety dept. Good example is North Battleford job, complete lack of organization and communication. No training or support for Safety personnel, revolving door for HSE people. Stay far far away.

Company is willing to hire green apprentices which is great, however, the senior management was very poor and when the job market was hurting, they treated their employees like garbage. Also communication between the office and the field was terrible.

Feels great to be working here. Most guys are friendly, and willing to give you a hand or teach what needs to be done. However, any sector at this company feared for their jobs too much, especially industrial guys.

fun people to work with but the payroll department kept messing up everyone's paychecks, and the office is really unorganized for industrial work.

Overall I enjoyed the challenges of the job. Great people and would work with them again if the opportunity arose. The health care benefits were awesome and were quick to reimburse all out of pocket expenses.

Very unorganized. Not enough information passed between office and site. Very poor standard for quality  of work. Some would call it scabby.  Unprofessional with lack of tools to accomplish jobs. Frustrating to work for
