Security Patrol on my midnight to 8 AM shifts. Tower patrols. Life, health and safety checks. Safety escorts. Dealing with vagrant people on property. Responding to emergency calls, alarms and emergency fire alarms when necessary. Deal with customer inquiries and Tenant complaints.
I learned how to deal with emergency situations as they happen and become more outspoken by overcoming my shyness and how to deal with people.
I've had a lot of co-workers over the time that I was there. Some good and some not so good. A good experience overall.
The hardest and frustrating part for me on my job site was kicking out the vagrants and panhandlers off the property. Some were nice and others aggressive. They kept coming back a few minutes later.
The most enjoyable part about the job was with some of my co-workers. We had some fun, enjoyed a few laughs and worked together as a team until the end of each shift.

They do not pay hardly enough money for the skills and experience a guard is qualitfied. They do ensure you are placed in a position that uses your skills and experience but they offer very little pay at the start and its very difficult to receive a raise. The staff are super friendly and the Human Resources department always there ready to answer any questions and assist you with any issue you have. They have in house training and offer a training wage as well. Most times if your training is not a required certificate for your site. Concord will pay for the course but not the training wage, so bettering yourself as a guard is as easy as your desire to advance.

Constantly motivating, supportive supervisors.Constant passing of knowledge and reminder about policies and procedures related to tasks.Good schedules, no errors in paychecks,friendly work environment,guards from my mall get trained highly because of the nature of the work that some of them have joined rcmp.Regular training, supervisors pass info and knowledge. High number of opps to grow

The site is beautiful, the people not so much

The supervisor and no proper training 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible it was awful. Supervisor of the company favors guards and if he doesn't like you you're gone.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Do shift change and patrols of the exterior and interior of the building

Typical stuff i do at work is accommodate people in the taxi stand help them out if they need a specific taxi company. What i learned is time management and a good example to my co-workers. the hardest job is when you ask people to leave in a "no parking and loading zone" only that when people engage and altercate with you. Most enjoyable part is accommodating and helping out people in the the airport

I learned to be on time, payment was on time. Hours were sufficient. Liked working alone, Independant, We all checked in 10-4, safety, knowing had back up. Co-workers are a team and should be proffesional as dressed.Hardest part of the job is nights and Holidays. The best part of the job is to serve and protect. Looking out for the little people, meeting people was/is great. Helping hand is always wellcome and the security.

Very few opportunities for work in town, travel to other towns/cities required if you want real full time hours. Many contracts only run 4 hour shifts...very difficult to juggle the 2-3 other jobs you'll need to classify as full time. The wages are very poor---some contracts are as low as 12/hr. This is sad, considering you can run out and get a job in retail for just about the same and you don't need to maintain a security license!

A good company. I mainly am just with my team here in a mall setting. We're all from different backgrounds which makes it kind of fun and we get along well. 

My supervisor's good about coaching me and I really feel I'm going to get the opportunity to grow with the company here.

Co-workers and other staff members are friendly and supportive. Allowing for opportunities of learning and providing me with advice from day to day. The job is not so complicated due to the excellent training that I was provided. Definitely the best part of my job is my fellow co-workers as they make me enjoy my job every day.

The concord security company had been one of the elite Security Icon.on 15 jun 2017 ,there was a Fire Fighting Demo.It was hardest part of job,ensuring all elevators closed,all people evacuated from the side of fire.The Security personnel of all level with engineering staff,reacted quickly.the demo was very success.Participating in the operation was enjoyable and educative.
